'nother fan of orange here,

I've got a few options, and am happy to observe "Orange October"

The drop point, "Hyker" modded orange Delica, and the Military have by far, the most pocket time of this group. The Delica did the AT & LT with me, along with many, many other trails & miles - both named trails and not. We've got many thousands of trail miles together.

In fact, if you look at the right front pocket (our left) in these two photos, you'll see that modded orange drop point "Hyker" modded Delica's clip, and maybe the hint of it's orange handle, there in my pocket :-)

Cool stuff! I’ve only done the first 500ish miles of the AT myself, but I plan to get back to it a whole lot more in the future!
I did about 100 mile segments and it was always a blast. Spyderco was mostly unknown to me at the time though, so I don’t have any neat pics that tie into this thread lol

I own one orange knife and it's new so I'm probably going to be carrying it a good bit this month. Happy coincidence that I found Rex 45 chief in stock last week. I thought they were long sold out. (Blades Canada/warriors and wonders if you're looking for one).

I'm generally not a fan of orange, but the burnt orange on the chief is subtle, almost brown. I actually kinda like it.

Please take this seriously and see a specialist. Tendons heal very slowly. I severed the extensor on my trigger finger. Not only was my finger strapped in a hard finger cot, but they also drove a stainless steel pin through my finger bones and joint to make it idiot proof. I was off work for 9 months. That doctor is retired now but to this day I think of him as a God.

Best wishes.
Thank you.

I was able to get in for surgery about a week after the incident. The surgeon buttoned the tendon through the finger bone for a better chance of a trouble free recovery. I’ll admit to being a little paranoid about my tendons after learning how fragile they can be.

Once I was cutting a stamp with a linoleum U shaped carving knife in school. A kid bumped my desk just as a made a hard cut and that blade scooped out a large portion of my middle finger on my left hand. After surgery to reattach muscles and tendons and time in a splint I was okay.

Very nice! I had the Positron out a few days ago to carry.

Also a good reminder that I took a photo of this one up in New Hampshire a couple years ago.

You've got me, I'm in! I just finished carrying a test blade and was thinking about what I would be trying to carry more this next month, and decided to break out my burnt orange shaman scales that have sat in the box unused since I purchased my rex45. Put them on the Zwear to play with it more the next two months. I originally thought of it as an ugly color, but in the context of fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving, my favorite season, it takes new light. Thank you all for the inspiration!

"only the first 500"

MAN THAT IS OUTSTANDING!!! Very, Very Outstanding!

Huge Congrats to you on completing the first 500!

I'm sure that when you get the opportunities & time, you'll be getting more until you complete it all.

If not the best, It's easily one of the very best experiences I've ever had (hiking the AT). Way to much good to speak about it to try to list it in this thread.

First 500!! Hellz ya man!!! OUTSTANDING!

I remember Very Well getting to that point, Grayson Highlands near the fatman squeeze little hallway thing, and Wise shelter - I believe...
You've certainly seen some Grate & Amazing stuff getting there, and it only keeps getting better, and better.

Back to the "Orange October" knife thread,

I'd forgotten about these two when I took that photo above, but did want to add them in here.
Both from Cutlery Shoppe. One the Para3 w/ XHP, and the other an Orange Alox Farmer.
I've been carrying the Orange XHP Para3 this week.
