Endela: New Nr. 1 recommendation for a first / only / basic / good-value folder?

The Dragonfly Salt was my first Spydie and that is the one I always recommend. Cheap, maintenance free, an incredible design. Love it! Excited to test out an Endela though!

The calculus changes somewhat when gifting, rather than recommending a knife. I gifted a Stretch to a friend who would never spend that much on a folder. He kept losing his crappy beaters so I said, “Here is a high quality knife you will treasure and not lose.” And he hasn’t! That was almost 2 years ago and he still carries it. Win all around.

You are a very generous guy, that´s a great gift!

But may I ask: Did he really like it from the beginning? Stretch (1) is probably my favorite folder of all times and all brands, BUT: The first impressions of people, especially non-knife-people. often times are not that good due to it´s "unusual" looks and design... Even I came to REALLY love the appearance and shape of the Stretch only after having used it and experienced how versatile and what a perfect tool it is.
