You need to buy pre-needed replacement of your Caly3 back-up

No the original G10 Caly 3 was discontinued long ago. The one being discontinued this year is the carbon fiber version. So now, there really won't be a Caly 3 in Spyderco's lineup.LC Kid wrote:Hi Folks!
So, no more Caly 3? Really?
It means the only Caly left on the catalog is the Caly 3.5 CF.
Hopefuly all this precedes some New/Sprint versions for both models. :)
And no more SS LadyBugs? Come'on...
Maybe is time for a fantastic new LadyBug Hawkbill in S30V! :D
Yes PLEASE!!!SpeedHoles wrote:Hopefully the Air comes back with a new part number with a pocket clip and more subtle scale material!
The Caly3 has been in production for a longtime meaning there are a ton out there. I personally wouldn't be in a huge rush, but id be interested to hear other peoples opinionsvlawson wrote:Not to be a broken record, but the Caly 3 surprises me quite a bit! In an old Nutnfancy video at shot show, Sal was carrying the 3.5 and said his wife was carrying the 3. Seemed like a winner.
My long term Spyderco plan was to own the Chaparral (in the mail now! Ya!) and the Sage 1 and the Caly 3, all regular production CF models.
I'm interested to know if it was poor sales, or something else, that spurred this decision.
Question for all you experienced spydie fans: Typically, how long until it will be hard/impossible to find a previously popular discontinued model, like the Caly 3, after being discontinued??
I keep pretty close tabs on the exchange (and the bay) like alot of members here do I'm sure, I rarely see the caly 3 pop up for sale which leads me to believe that most that own one like it too much to sell, I don't see this changing much moving forward.vlawson wrote:Not to be a broken record, but the Caly 3 surprises me quite a bit! I should pick up a Caly, but I can't right now. Bummer.PSquared wrote:Wow, the Caly 3 is a surprise. I'm sad to see this go. It took a while for me to actually bond with mine but when I did I realised what a great knife this is. Is it just me or do the Moki made knives seem to be disappearing?
With any luck the Double Bevel gets replaced with a version with a more conventional blade, its a great sized knife in my mind.

well i guess a different version...lolPhilo Beddoe wrote:Which version of ebay are you looking at  On the version I'm looking at I quit counting once got to 20 Caly 3's for sale.farnorthdan wrote:I keep pretty close tabs on the exchange (and the bay) like alot of members here do I'm sure, I rarely see the caly 3 pop up for sale which leads me to believe that most that own one like it too much to sell, I don't see this changing much moving forward.
Now the SB version is rarer and harder to find.
I think they made enough Caly 3's through the years that their will be a good supply of those for awhile.
