So, no more Caly 3? Really?

It means the only Caly left on the catalog is the Caly 3.5 CF.

Hopefuly all this precedes some New/Sprint versions for both models. :)

And no more SS LadyBugs? Come'on...

Maybe is time for a fantastic new LadyBug Hawkbill in S30V! :D
No the original G10 Caly 3 was discontinued long ago. The one being discontinued this year is the carbon fiber version. So now, there really won't be a Caly 3 in Spyderco's lineup.

Sad day to see the Caly 3 phased out. I hope Sal and Co. have plans for a Caly 4 in the not-too-distant future.

Might need to pick up a Schempp Rock...

Ordered a Double Bevel from CS for 50% off MSRP. Helps to wait. Always wanted one.

Not many surprises if you ask me. Some of those more unusual models didn't seem to take off very well.

This is the push I needed to grab a Caly 3... not really in my budget, but it's a knife I seriously want!

My bet/hope is that it's reissued soon with either a mono-steel blade, non riveted construction, or different scale materials (possibly all three?).

Wow, the Caly 3 is a surprise. I'm sad to see this go. It took a while for me to actually bond with mine but when I did I realised what a great knife this is. Is it just me or do the Moki made knives seem to be disappearing?

If the PITS isn't getting replaced with a revised model, this will be equally sad, As much as the polished Ti slabs get scratched, I may prefer that to a coloured ano. A blasted or stonewash finish would be great though.

With any luck the Double Bevel gets replaced with a version with a more conventional blade, its a great sized knife in my mind.

I'm a bit surprised the Hungarian lives another year.

As Travvy said - the upside is that these are all getting replaced with new and exciting stuff.

Hopefully the Air comes back with a new part number with a pocket clip and more subtle scale material!

And yeah, I agree about Double Bevel. I love that knife. Would enjoy seeing one with another grind variation.

Hopefully Caly 3 comes with another part number with solid HAP40!
Going back to Caly.

Not to be a broken record, but the Caly 3 surprises me quite a bit! In an old Nutnfancy video at shot show, Sal was carrying the 3.5 and said his wife was carrying the 3. Seemed like a winner.

My long term Spyderco plan was to own the Chaparral (in the mail now! Ya!) and the Sage 1 and the Caly 3, all regular production CF models.

I'm interested to know if it was poor sales, or something else, that spurred this decision.

Question for all you experienced spydie fans: Typically, how long until it will be hard/impossible to find a previously popular discontinued model, like the Caly 3, after being discontinued??

The Caly3 has been in production for a longtime meaning there are a ton out there. I personally wouldn't be in a huge rush, but id be interested to hear other peoples opinions

Oh, and the chap is an amazing knife, you won't be disappointed! :D

I keep pretty close tabs on the exchange (and the bay) like alot of members here do I'm sure, I rarely see the caly 3 pop up for sale which leads me to believe that most that own one like it too much to sell, I don't see this changing much moving forward.

For those who don't own an air I'd grab one of these too, it took me a long time to finally pull the trigger on mine a while back but I sure am glad I did, they are well worth the money, it's an amazing little knife for sure.
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

Which version of ebay are you looking at  On the version I'm looking at I quit counting once got to 20 Caly 3's for sale.

Now the SB version is rarer and harder to find.

I think they made enough Caly 3's through the years that their will be a good supply of those for awhile.

Caly 3 CF ! WOW, sad day indeed.

I carried mine just yesterday. It is (was) one of the best 3 inch EDC's IMO.

I should pick up a Caly, but I can't right now. Bummer.

On the Double Bevel: I really love this knife. The handle shape, egos, thickness and design is excellent. The blade......is just cool! I get compliments on it everywhere I use it. Its a fantastic cutter, practically a laser beam. I wish Spyderco would have sprinted it once or twice. I feel if they had done that this blade would have been elevated within the lineup. A Taichung version would have been AMAZING!! This knife has so much potential, yet was left to stagnate and die. Shameful.

None of these surprise me at all. I can't imagine the sales for any of those listed are doing well at all.
