How often do you catch your pocket clip on something?

I've only caught my pocket clips when I carried in back right pocket, because I don't think about it when sitting down so I often catch them on chairs and tables which is annoying. That's why I pretty much only carry in front pockets now.

I know a few companies do this. Loudmouth Golf does, although they have relatively short inner pockets so I con usually only fit a MeerKat, CoPilot or Mini-Grip in it but it's really useful when I go to someplace that frowns upon knives. Disneyland comes to mind, I'll often have an LBK when I go in my inner pocket. The only downside is that they're pretty expensive but they have awesome funky designs!

I always snagged my Manix2 clip on things to the point where it stands off of the knife a few thousandths. Only other one I've had a problem with is my Meerkat, and I sat down next to my girl on the couch and it clipped into her pocket somehow too. Made it hard to get up when we were attached at the hip.

Exactly. When I snag it, it ALWAYS is a good enough snag to bend the clip away from the of the knife rending it useless the rest of the day.

All the time. When i drive one particular model of work truck (Chevy C8500) any knife clipped in my left front pocket gets snagged on the seat belt. It just happened an hour ago. Was on the jobsite, my left pocket was empty, ran to the cab of the truck and there it was- clipped to the seat belt.

But, they're also probably the reason why I catch pocket clips on things sometimes. BUT, the cool thing is that secondary pocket inside the main one that rides higher (watch pocket I think they're traditionally called?). Lately I've found myself carrying more and more in that pocket as it's out of the way and it's deep enough to put nearly everything in..

I always use the double pocket on the right leg. With the knife clipped to the inside pocket, the outer pocket covers the end of the clip and eliminates the problem. Works on my overalls and my two pair of Carhartt carpenter jeans.

It happened to me too! I spent hours looking for my Stretch at home. It was in my pocket, then it wasn't. I was thinking I was going nuts already, because I was sure I hadn't used it.

Then I backtracked all my movements, and it was hanging in the decorative net of the hammock in the garden. No bent clip; the hammock simply pickpocketed it as a pro.

I've only had my Delica get caught twice. Both times it got caught in the thick 1/2 inch cardboard bins we have at work.

I have bent a my Para2 clip once when I got up off a swing (playing with my little sister), it got caught on the chain.

I have also put a big scratch on my car when I was squeezing past a car parked next to me.

Only my Para 1 DigiCam has ever been caught up and bent. This knife gets much of the "hard" work tasks so its not surprising.

Certainly not every day, but somewhat regularly. I broke the clip on my Techno this past winter on the back of a sofa I was helping to move.

I've only caught the clip on one knife (Sage4) and it happened twice in the same chair. So I got rid of the chair. :) The second time it happened it didn't bend the wire clip but the clip pivoted out to a 90 degree angle with the handle. The clip wires spinning 90 degrees put pressure on the wood and it split the wood. If the wood hadn't split I'm sure the wire would have bent. I'm glad the only times I've snagged a clip it was hard enough to notice it. I'd hate to catch it on something and it pull the knife out of my pocket without me noticing it.

Speaking of noticing it, I've wondered about someone "pickpocketing" a clipped knife from someone's pocket. A good pickpocketer can distract you and get the wallet out of your pocket and the wallet is usually completely hidden from site (or mine is). I guess this is true because they do it in the movies all the time. They can't put something in the movies if it isn't true, just like putting info on the Internet. :) Some of the knife folks here can tell what knife is in the pocket just by seeing the clip and end of the handle which would tell them if the knife was worth stealing.

Very, very rarely. I wear jeans most of the time. I suspect the lower-riding pockets of looser-fitting cargos and slacks increase the chance of clip-catching.

I did, however, hook my Superleaf on my housekeys as I made a quick grab for them at the bottom of my pocket. The knife came out with the keys at an apparently awkward angle that snapped the wireclip! I'm now more careful when carrying a pocket-hog.

I have never caught my clip on anything thankfully! but most of the time my knife is unclipped in my pocket so it doesn't have a chance to get caught up :D

My favorite clip is the low ride type wire clip. That being said it is also the only one I have had real trouble with. I cant remember if it was my caly 3 or UKPK but it was bent in a horrible way and i was very distraught and ready to send it in. MAybe I was being a little over dramatic because it took about two minutes to "fix" and it has been going strong ever since.

On the other hand, or other pocket, as it were, I often carry a tasman in my LFP. More than once I have found this knife in particular caught on the drivers seatbelt in a car I was driving without me noticing. The worst was a few summers ago I lost it completely, when <what I am now sure happened, it caught itself on a piece of that orange construction fence. I looked everywhere for it and after eventually replacing it have noticed it getting caught in this type of fencing again. I do carry a knife flashlight and multi day most everyday of the year and am fairly observent when dropping or losing one of these items but that fence sure has "pick pocketed" me enough to be certain that a trained human would have no problem doing it.

Only once, I caught the low ride wire clip on my Techno on the latch cover in a door jamb. It bent the clip out so it wasn't secure in my RFP. I bent it back using a vice and haven't had any problems since. The low ride wire clip is my favorite and I have replaced a few other standard wire clips with these. I just love that it conceals the whole knife in my pocket.
