Something I'm wondering. I no longer have my Caly 3 CF as I gave it to a buddy. It has nicely rounded corners all around the CF handles. It looks like this has almost sharp 90* edges around the CF. Is that the case? I mean it looks like they may have knocked the "point" off of the corner but that's about it.

I wonder if the whole Fukushima Nuclear disaster is taking it's toll on everyone around? I mean this in all seriousness and not in any jerky way at all. I mean if I worked in a factory close to that disaster I couldn't possibly have QC on my mind as much as my family and my loved ones.

It is possible that hte work being done isn't quite as good as it used to be...went to my local today to play with the Meerkat...and they had 4 of them, and none of then were very good at all. The f&f was below anything that I have seen...probably ever on a Spyderco. All 4! Not one had no issues and the issues that they did have were all fairly minor, but each had multiple issues.

I admit it is a different feel and look than I expected, but it is by no means a problem. The images of the damascus Caly 3 are leading me to think that it has a more rounded profile on both the bolsters and the scales.

Man i'm tempted to pick up this knife, but i really can't stand 420J2. That stuff scratches like soft plastic. It's petty, but it bothers me. I really wish this knife was just solid ZDP like the Stretch.

Ok, so THAT'S why this thing is all scratched up after only 4 or so days of carrying it? I have never scratched up a knife like I have this Caly 3.5.... I couldn't figure out what was going wrong.

I literally have horizontal striations where I wiped dust off of the blade with my finger and it left tiny scratches. Wonder why 420j2 does that? Is it not heat treated or something?

They have no liners too so circular scratches are the norm.

As for the F&F issues liners they often have pivot grit, minuscule liner gaps and the lamination line are never exactly perfect. It's the nature of the beast with Moki knives. That said, they make one amazing lockback. Great grind geometry too :)
