A toxic green handled D-fly Salt with a black H1 blade and black clip was suggested that sounded potentially cool. However, I'd definitely be down for a CF, Micarta, or colored G10 handle with Super Blue blade steel. It would be very classy. Even though it's been used, I'd even be down for one of these handles with a ZDP blade just to deviate from the current FRN version.

1. Super Blue and Peel Ply Carbon Fiber

2. ZDP and Tan G10

I really dig the lightweight feel and Yellow FRN on the Salt, however the G10 Dfly with its full liners, has a great feel of solidity in hand that is truly outstanding and appreciated in such a compact knife.

I think I'd like a black G10 version.

Oh... and Carbon Fiber would be sweet on that little thing.
Spyderco please make a wire clip version of the Manbug/Ladybug!

They probably could but since Golden is pretty much at capacity, I would much rather them work on Millie/Para/Manix 2 sprints and the new C95. If they're going to do anything in Golden that they were going to do in Japan, forget about the D'fly and do the Starmate.

Since it's Japan made there aren't that many steel options. I would love to see some more colors and handle materials for the D'fly though since it's one of my favorites. Small and and compact. I like that. Bring one the funky and fun FRN scales - orange, lime green, bright blue. I'm all for those. If the price doesn't go through the roof CF might be cool, too.
She: Did you say pink :spyder: sprint run?! - He: Yeah. - She: Wow, wouldn't this go great with my purple Delica?! - He: ? - :D

:spyder: Delica 4 FFG purple ::: Dragonfly Salt Yellow SE ::: Ladybug Foliage Green PE ::: UK Penknife Safety Orange G-10 ::: Byrd Robin G-10 PE ::: Delica 4 FFG pink - modded to non-locking ::: Squeak ::: Grasshopper ::: Kiwi - got snagged by the husband ::: Endura 4 FFG Orange ::: Delica ZDP-189 ::: Centofante 4 ::: Byrd Tern ::: Manix 2 Blue Lightweight :spyder:

Agree with almost everything, just change Manix to Native5 and I will be happy.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I can be on board with that. Kinda over the Manix 2. Love the lock, but doesn't fit my hand like the C95. I sold my Manix 2 CTS-XHP b/c I knew it would never kick the Para 2 or Bradley out of my pocket.

I would buy this if it could somehow happen in Japan. Not gonna hold my breath though.

When was the last Spyderco that came out with Micarta scales?
I fully agree - I have a thing for orange G10. Making the DFly with orange g10 and ZDP would be very exciting.

And the current/recent spyderco line up has several in micarta - including

- Maroon baby Goddard
- White Goddard Junior
- Several editions of the Persian
- Street Beat
- Temp2 (tan canvas micarta)

Plus lots of others like the Phoenix, Ronin, Kris, Kopa, and many of fixed blades...tanto, forager, forester, woodlander, dayhiker...
