Listed online at $146.22. Doesn't seem that expensive.twinboysdad wrote:Count on this- it is Nipponese and will be expensivethewoodpecker wrote:Anyone else have experience with the handle geometry? VG10 certainly doesn't sound exotic in 2017, several of my EDCs with this steel never let me down.
I like ZDP189, but than this knife most likely would stop be affordable for me.

Nice pieces Brj.
The Ethnic series actually began with Eduard Bradichansky. I fact I would have to give him credit for the idea of taking a historic or geographic specific design and make a modern folder. A brilliant man. He was a model manker by trade. His "credit Card Knife" was also way out of the box at the time. I think he would still be designing knives for us today.
He was attacked and killed by Hamas in the West Bank wile visiting relatives. The killers burned his car and body. He was identified because he was carrying the prototypes of the Shabaria and Credit Card knife with him. The metal parts didn't burn and there was nothing else in the world like it. We send Royalty checks to his widow.

Re: Shabaria review
I will absolutely be buying one of these. Thank you for the information and, while this may sound odd, thank you for continuing to send royalty checks to his wife. Very few companies have the ethos of Spyderco and that’s why I will put my money where my mouth is and continue to support it.sal wrote:Nice pieces Brj.

Re: Shabaria review
Had the sprint run pre-ordered but just found one in micarta. I think I will enjoy that more than the g10,. Although, the grey does look good.
Re: Shabaria review
+1.
But CF sprint is the best
but not peel ply. Shabaria is very classy knife. IMHO it looks in black or white the best.
At one time I was dreaming about Shabaria with ancient ivory micarta scales.

Re: Shabaria review
Couldn't find a CF version reasonanly priced, yet. It would definitely look good in ivory micarta!
Re: Shabaria review
Love the blade and overall style of this one. Agree it would be killer in a bone/stag/ivory-like material scale material..
Sadly, I rather suspect I won;t make it up here at all.... Yes, I'm a pessimist where the goobermint is involved...

Re: Shabaria review
What is reasonably priced in your opinion? They were about $180, when they came out few years ago.
Around 2005-2006 Shabaria was very hot. PE micarta was selling on e-bay around $300. Add 10 years of 3% inflation, this would be $400. It is not that hot now.
I saw couple NIB CF sold on e-bay in February under $200.

Re: Shabaria review
Lowest I saw currently for the CF was used for $230. I'll keep an eye out for a better deal.
Re: Shabaria review
Even 230 is not bad. But if you are not in rush, there is alway chance to find a better deal.
