Woodcrafters CPM S30V Mule?

There were some threads called Glue Wars on another forum that did some testing and rated various glues/epoxies. :)

Tubing size? I didn't even look, just bought the one that fit snug.
I took the blank into the store with me for size.
Taped a piece paper over the blade to make it look like "hardware"
Sorry about that, will check & see if there is a flag on the stub.
Checked out "Glue wars" mentioned in this thread.
Apparently 5 minute epoxy will fail if frozen then heated in an oven and hit with a hammer.
What I gathered is the wood failed and not the glue with many of the adhesives tested. Interesting thread.

Here is my woodcraft mule with Tiger stripe G10 and sculpted scales by Tuffthumbz. Fantastic job. Kinda wild and crazy. :eek: I love it.
This is a very stout little knife and will make a great heavy duty user -especially with the grippy scales! Hope you like it.

Nice tiger.
I started on my handles last night but it is slow going. I have the red liners and rosewood glued on and started sanding today, (man rosewood is dense and hard to sand). I am doing it with no power tools or files and all i have is 240 grit sandpaper. It took me 3 hours of hand sanding the rough cut scales down to the spine but at least that area looks good. I would post pics but i am to darn tired. I might have to wait to finish it until i can get a dremel and files.

The good news is, you have lots of material to work with.
The area near the blade needs to be handled with caution
as you can scratch the blade when trying to even out.
Keep it up! 50% of the wood will be history soon!
Your hand is the only one it needs to fit.
Something to remember. :)

Man i am going to my local hardware store tomorrow for a dremel and a couple of files. This was done with a handheld saw and 240 grit sandpaper and took 3hr just to sand the spine area. :eek:MCM wrote:Have a saw? :D

I went and bought a file today and a dremel but when i got home my wife freaked out about the dremel. Or anniversary is on the 16th and i have been hinting around that i wanted a dremel so she told me that i am getting one and i could not use the one i just bought. I used the file i bought to finish the handle and i just finished staining it with a redwood stain. I will sand it again after it dries and add a clear sealant tomorrow and sand it again.
Here it is. Man the $8 file made a big difference, but my hand is numb now. :)

Looks comfy. Are you planning on filling the voids around the pins with super glue before finishing it off? Just curious.

I have learned allot from this one and i made mistakes but i am happy with it. I just ordered another one so i can refine my my handle finishing.
