I think any knife recommended would be a great choice. I believe for most outdoor activities you will want two knives for different types of tasks. As someone said, jack of all trades is a master of none. So, get two masters. Just keep them lubricated to protect against the weather, dirt and corrosion. Speaking of lubrication, a few months ago I accidentally spilled power steering fluid all over my blue Stretch. To this day it opens and closes better and smoother than ever and easier than any other knife I have. I've never used it for outdoor use but it sure is smooth indoors. I may be taking up fishing again this summer. The Stretch will be one knife I will take. Haven't decided on a second. Maybe a machete for the water mocasins and aligators. :)
