Where did you get the stabilized wood handle material? the Masure birch to be exact.

What size rivets/pins did you use? What size tubing did you use in the lanyard hole?
I am finding it hard to find imperial size tubing or rivets for the blank.. Did you use metric material?

I used 1/4 hidden bolts with 3/16th shanks.

I could not figure out what size the lanyard was meant to be, I would have used 1/4 and had slop in the hole, but decided instead to open out the hole. Heating with a torch would have been easier, but I used a carbide drill bit to take it to 8mm, which suits a 5/16 tube pretty well. If you soften the steel you can use a wider range of drill sizes to suit whatever tube material you have handy.
