If so then it's strange to see it fetching such a price.

IIRC, there were two runs of approximately half of the total run of 1k knives. The first sold out a while back. Some dealers continued taking pre-orders for the second half of production for a whiile but I don't think any are still doing so, due to uncertainties about what they'll get. This can all be confirmed (or corrected) by searching here.

I signed up to preorder one of these a little while back. Got my fingers crossed as this is a true grail knife for me.

sweet, this is a good read.

Also I know a few stores in Canada do still have them. Warriors and Wonders still has them for a reasonable price. SR did have it for 168 CAD a week and a bit ago but now it's over $250!

Thanks everyone for clearing that up. I'm now conflicted whether I should keep this as a user or a collectible.

M2-XHP--It would've been nice, but not at the prices I have seen lately. I will stick with my stock M2 and get it Krein'd to FFG.

Funny enough I was in S&R the day they raised the prices inquiring about some other knives. I asked if he still had any M2 in CTS-HXP and Sean told me about the price change but that he was willing to sell one more at $168 since I was standing in the store before he made the price change lol. Sean was under teh impression that only 700 were made...

Great place to buy knives from by the way. Great customer service and a wealth of information
