Handgun safes for sale at most larger outdoor retailers. A good one should give you plenty of storage (especially if stored in boxes). It can also be mounted to the wall to make it less theft prone.

If you want one that is easier to open (than a key) a little more money will get you one with an electronic keypad.

I've got a friend who collects pocket watches. Keeps 'em in a wall-mounted case in the living room, and has 'em hung up for all to see. If I had any sizable collection of spydercos, I'd do the same, but hang the knives up by the spider holes :D

But I only need a few knives, so all my knives are in my bug out bag or on my desk (or in my pocket)

Some of you guys have some pretty amazing collections. I'd be lyin' if I said I wasn't jealous.

All my customs, and special productions are kept in my safe. I would hate for you guys to have everything taken at once.

A large safe is less money than you think, and the wooden chests can be put in the safe.

Just a thought.

Some real nice setups you guy's have!

^ Safes are the way to go.

I don't have a lot of knives over $200, but they do add up.

I just thought I would add to the safe idea.

I have a large safe. Tiffany & Co. and the DoD use this same one. It has the combonation dial, and a large key lock.

It has two locks. Here is how it works. The owner has the combination, and employees get the keys to the second lock, or Day Lock. So, in the AM the safe is unlocked with the dial, and is locked on and off during the day with a key. This keeps the combination a secret from workers

If you get a big safe, it is one of the best thinks you can do for yourself and your family. you can store documents, jewelry, weaponry and anything of value. Lock it and no worries.

Oh, Lord...I forgot to add you can store your knives in there as well. You could put the Gerstner Chest on the inside.

I would love to have one of the chests out in my den for my friends to look at, and play around with my knives, but if someone got in you could have all your knives gone, and that would be just awful.

Now, the story about getting the safe in our house, well it was a very interesting event. Someday I will tell it.

Best of luck to everyone on your storage ideas,

Toad

Sounds cool -- what price range are we talking?

Mine was $1,700.00 in 2001. If you search the web there are many makers. Mine is Sportsman Steel from Long Beach, CA.

Beautifully made, and you can customize it, as they make them just for you, no off the rack type found with the common brands we hear of all the time. They make them one at a time, and three week delivery time.

Good luck,

Toad
