I vote for wire clips, they work much better for me. Deep pocket carry, less conspicuous all around in the workaday world. I have to keep the bolt tight, though. I have found wire clips go wonky if loose.

I catch the edges of the flat metal clips on upholstery, car seats and such, and bend the clips plus damage the upholstery.

Personally, I don't need a high carry for quick grab, that's what pistols are for here in the wild west. Concealed carry permits are easy to get and common, and in an extreme situation if you don't have a gun, you better presume the other guy does, and not go waving a knife around. In my world knives are for cutting things, not people.

The high riding clips are designed for easy accessibility not for "quick draw", there is a difference. There's nothing worse than fumbling around unable to get your knife out of your pocket while your working... try getting a low riding wire clipped knife out of you pocket next time your wearing rigging gloves.

I like the Para 2 with the hour glass clip as is. I hope the clip is sandblasted. I prefer it much over polished or painted. I chemically strip the paint of my knives when I get them. They have that sandblasted finish I like.
