Have one in the mail.
It shows 542 left?
That many? Really?

On the plus side, maybe these will get used as intended. ;)

Thanks again Sal.

You omitted my punchline in your quote, which totally changed my meaning. For anyone who has ever worked in a business in product development, sales etc. my post is pretty funny. As for sales & money, I assure you in the big picture this is merely an annoyance Spyderco.

Ordered mine. If it were me, that would be the last time I did business with the wood vendor. Anyone familiar with the saying that if you make a customer happy he'll tell his friends, but if you make him mad he'll tell everyone? Sal, you sure have a lot of class for not calling this vendor out in public.

Can't wait to get it and see how good or bad my handle turns out to be.

I just LOVED how they looked on the pics.

I'd love to get one but am committed to spending that same amount of dough on a lower for an AR.

I ordered one. really sad to see something like this happen to a good company. Keep your head up Sal, the Bushcraft is still a great design and they will have good homes.

Urg, so want one, but can't justify a pretty Mora that costs over 8x more. :(

Nope, not a Mora. I've got a box or two of Mora, and Frost, and, Not even close. This compares to a nice custom rather than the $8 to $10 disposable knives that we all like so well. Still, it's not everybodies cup of tea. I'm trying to get a second myself.

Not even to resell later for a profit but as a keeper, though I don't see myself wearing out one in a lifetime.

Functionality wise they are almost identical, size is almost same as triflex craftsmen, even steel isn't that much different (1095 vs. O1).

Oh well, they should last a while so I got time to think about it.

Thank you Sal for giving us a heads up.

I don't know any other company that would do something like this. It doesn't surprise me any more because this is just how Spyderco is.

It's the little things that always make a difference.

That's how much more a ZR1 Corvette costs over a Honda Civic. They will both go the speed limit so practically there is no difference.

Not the same, one is capable of doing something much better than the other, not so much difference between O1 and 1095.

This one has Spyderco Ergonomics, better, thicker stock. It's got much nicer grinds, and will hold up to hard use a heck of a lot better than a mora or frost.

I like them too. I have boxes of them still, and used to sell them.

They just don't compare in any way. This one is heirloom quality. Not something I'd say about a Mora.

I know, I'm not saying bushcraft is not worth it, just trying to justify if I should get it or save the fund for something else (like the NASA version if that's still on the table). You know the too many choices too little money thing lol.

Oh yes, I know that very well. Being single now makes it easier to do things like dip into the food budget, but there are still limits if one is sensible.

I do admit to wanting more than I really need when it comes to knives. To keep the kharmic balance I've cut back on other vices though. So I'm hoping that's gonna work anyway. :)

Well, holding them both, they are very different! Both exactly worth their price IMHO. Ergo's on the Bushcraft UK are way better. I like how the tip is a bit lower then on the Mora, and the thicker steel gives more confidence, and the scandi grind is done better on the Bushcraft. Also, the Bushcraft gives sparks from a firesteel out of the box. The mora needs some filework on the spine to do that because the spine isn't 'sharp' enough.

just put an order in, geussing they're still available??

Also thinking of the filler/coating question. If I get a Bushcraft I'll want it to last forever.

Thanks for the heads up Sal. This looks like a wonderful and useful knife cracks in the handle and all. Sorry about the misfortune.
