Congratulation on your "new" knife. To tell the truth, I'd send the knife for reconditioning and I'd simply make it a safe queen. Those things will be more and more difficult to find.

No skill is an understatement. Even when I had no skills I could not have done that to a good knife.
I shouldn't admit it here but I did once sharpen a serated Delica to plain edge since I could not figure out how to sharpen the Spyder edge. That was long before my Forumite days. That was before I owned a computer.
Funny thing is that knife stayed wonderfully sharp as it was transformed. It did get a lot narrower though.
A few weeks later and the Delica showed back up on my doorstep all newly serrated. They did a bang up job on the new serrations in my opinion. Even did what they could with what was left of the old tip. So the scary sharp new serrations in combination with the scratches and dings of over 15 years of use make this a pretty tough looking little knife. Thanks Spyderco!
