Do you mean the point off-center when closed or a visible blade warping?
I've never heard of real blade warping on the Calypso (or any :spyder: anyway), but the blade being off-center compared to the "slot" in the handles are likely a pivot adjustment issue. (an aesthetic one IMHO, as long as the edge doesn't touch the handle...)
No, the Calypso Jr should only be thinner (like the Centofante III but FFG) if the thickness was to change. It's not a Manix, but it's already very sturdy.
I have 6 Calypso Jr.s now and remember buying 5 of the gray ones back in 2005, all of which had the blades off center and all had really tight clips. The new bergundy and black ZDP knifes that I own all have centered blades. I have an older NOS serrated model that has a centered blade. The others have been used and the blades are all off center. I know for a fact that re-arching a weak clip will warp the FRN and make the blade go off center in relation to the scales. Daily carry will also cause the clip to warp the FRN as the clip is sprung more going in and out of the pocket. Steel liners would fix the problem but then it wouldn't be a Calypso Jr. I just deal with it as a quirk of this particular knife.
I would like to see another run in gray with any type of steel except the
ZDP/420 sandwich which just doesn't look right to me.
I have a zdp one that i have had Tom Krien Grind the tip down to a round tip like a rescue. I dont like zdp thats y i had that one ground down. I am getting a brand new VG-10 black handedled NIB for x mas , It will be a safe queen untill i get another.
I say Vg-10 all the way. handels should stay the same a dark FRN coulour.
