The one we are all most familiar with is actually the Police II. If you look at the pic I posted, the stainless handle Police with the unbevelled handle and more forward mounted lock release is a first generation (like the P.I.G. model, but without the blade etch). The models like the aluminum handled piece in that pic (beveled handles and mid-lock) are second generation.

At least, that is what Sal told me over on BladeForums. I'm reasonably sure he would know. ;) :D

Didn't see the Blanchard "Screamin' Eagle" variation posted.

The set is collector number 002.

The Santa Fe Stoneworks version in MOP is one of my favorites as well.

Hi Java
oddly enough i have a couple of Blanchards but they hadn't arrived when i took the picture of my knives laid out. I wasn't a fan initially but it is a knife that looks far better in the flesh than in any picture.

Same with the Santa Fe knives, not that keen, but would buy a black one with red coral web, sad eh????

Couple more Blanchard Eagles both a bit unusual. The one is PE, the other has a lanyard hole, which is fairly uncommon on the stainless Police...

And, while on the subject of eagles, a Santa Fe Stoneworks "Wooden Eagle"...

And another Santa Fe Police, this the more famous "Earthling"...

Help Me Please!

Post by Cuccos19 »

I don't know what kind of Police G-10 is mine. It hasn't got the usual - Civilian like, "deep sitting" - pocket clip. It has the normal SS Police / SS Endura type clip. Of course in black, not natural metal. This Police hasn't got the David Boye dent, I think it means it has been manufactured before 2001. The blade steel is ATS-55. I hope it something more rare one (first/last run, pre-production os something else). Please watch the photos and say something about that. I hope Sal will have a look at it. If anyone knows what it is, he has to.

Thanks for everyone!

I think these two were the main line of the Police model... the SS and the G10.

Post by pporter »

Does anyone have a pic of the left handed police with serrations, or have this model? Is it rare?

Hi,

New to the forum. Was doing some online research about the Syderco Police in the SS. The 2013 variation has a higher riding hourglass clip with options to have tip up/down, left/right carry. Other than that, I think the specs are the same. It's nice to have the options to change the clip but I feel the extra holes diminish the clean and sleek look of the SS version.

From the 2013 product catalog.

Sorry,
I have a friend who is convinced that he saw a Police in Barcelona with "camo" handle. I told him that it is probably a Military, but He's sure to have seen a Police, with the false edge and everything else ok! I tried on Spydiewiki and here but never found anything about.... my friend was drunk?!? ....Or maybe a China-copy?!? Or handle craft?!
Should be nice anyway.....

Probably the military as you said. There hasn't been a production camouflaged police model.
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

Howdy,
This looks like an old thread, but I'm new here, and have this old POLICE G-2 Left handed version. It's been sitting in drawer for 20+ years. I'd like some info on it. How rare is this guy?

Thanks!
