Great review Wouter, and excellent pictures as always mate :p

I have one coming my way in the next few weeks (once my wallet magically fills up again :) ) Really looking forward to getting this one to complement the rest of my "Daddy Lego" collection. The FFG will make it very difficult for me to leave it in the cupboard though. Might have to carry this one alongside Mr Caly 3 :D

Mr Blonde wrote:I didn't mean to say that the knife feels thinner. The knife seems narrower in feel, like the handle is not as wide top to bottom, compared to its FRN sibling. The G10 Delica subjectively fills my hand more than the FRN version. I think it's the combination of more steel to the touch (backspacer and liners are steel and exposed) and the added weight.

nice review of the knife's features with pictures alongside! I never thought I'd want to be a collector of the "ordinary" Enduras and Delicas, but when a new version comes out I find myself buying more of them... :spyder: :D

Haven't heard that, but I just got mine today and to my eye the lockbar does look a little thicker.

Wouter?
I carefully compared the thickness of the lockbar to that in my D4 Drone, and to my naked eye they look to be the same thickness. I don't have any callipers though.

I won't take mine apart anytime soon, as the action and lock-up are absolutely perfect right now. If in the future I'm waiting for new stuff to come out and I'm bored, I could be tempted.

Great pictures Sir! Looks like another awesome full flat grind, G-10 Spyderco.

I have one on the way. I can't wait to check it out and compare it to my Caly3 and my old G-10 Standard.

Looks like this Delica may be fighting my mini-Persian and Caly3 for pocket time at work.

just wondering, how does comfort compare between the FRN and the G10? (i.e. do the exposed metal liners dig into your hand when gripping really tightly?)

The exposed metal liners on the G10 Delica are perfectly(!) flush with the G10 handle slabs, like they're one piece. So that doesn't cause any hotspots in a tight grip.

Which material offers the most comfortable grip, is a tough one. The FRN has perfectly smooth and rounded edges, but the pattern on slabs is rougher than pocket worn G10. The G10 has a smoother surface after a month or so of carry, and the material -with the steel liners- is indeed a harder surface to the touch. Considering the difference, I think both come out equally comfy in the hand.
