My very EDC was a SE (modified) Delica. I carried it for a few years, the poor knife has been heavily used (and abused) and it met (and exceeded) all the expectations. :)
I understand that you carried the SE Delica so you know how it feels and performs. It was the ultimate knife for me, even better than the Caly jr. (possibly due to the fact that I regrund the Delica's blade to full flat grind and I attached a low ride wire clip).
However (and I do hope this won't be taken as a shameless attempt to advertise my knife), the Delica has been retired and the Adventura has become my new EDC. :D

I found "the one".
I began not long ago, with a Delica, bought because I read it was the most popular Spyderco ever. Fine knife, easy to sharpen, tip up, no blade chips....didn't excite me but no complaints either. Next was the Calypso Jr. I really liked this knife more than the Delica. It's ergos were better and it sliced like #@$&. The only problem was the blade chipped on anything I cut except the paper I sliced while showing off the "out of the box" sharpness. Next was the Yojimbo. I had read all the good reports and as it was an easy purchase for me in Canada, I bought it. I think the Yojimbo is a great knife....I feel like I'm carrying a finely tuned sports car in my pocket. My only problem with it is that I think it's too good of a knife for EDC. I'll save it for the "special" occasions for which it was designed. My most recent purchase has absolutley
stunned me. Great steel, tip up carry, unbelievable ergos and able and willing to perform any task asked of it with aplomb. Coincidentally, my wife Doe, aka Dodo, didn't even mind the expense.

Alohallo spydutch,
As most here know, it's been my C83 Ed Schempp Persian. Never did I ever think to use such a beautiful knife! However...
Once I get an Adventura user, a Yellow PS Salt I, Tasman PE and a CentoIV...these will be rotated to save some wear and tear off my beloved Persian...
My "other knife" has been accompanying the Persian, but so far, this Persian is still the "one."
God bless and man I am beat... :o
PS: FWIW, the Delica and Endura will always hold a special place in my heart as THE ONE's. Period.

There is no "perfect" EDC. It is allways a compromise.
A tactical knife is not suited for the purpose of peeling fruit etc.and the other
way around.
Myself I'm sort of married to my Stretch and love her, with her shortcomings
( like every knife and wife has ) To me "she" is a good friend and companion.
Allways in my pocket, in daily city life and on my hunting trips. If you keep buying knives in search for the perfect EDC, you end up with drawers filled
with knives. In our hearts we all know that but we call it by other names.
Maybe the best EDC is the bigger Victorinox SAK, with the liner lock.

The perfect EDC exists, just not in a single knife. The Li'l Temp is my favorite spydie to date, in its SE variation. But that one is out of production, so I like to keep it reasonably safe from harm and not carry it all the time. My other favorites are Caly jrs., ParaMillie, Dragonfly and Kopa to name a few.
It's more accurate to say that my 'one' favorite EDC spydie is a leaf blade pattern of 3 inches and under. :D Fortunately, that leaves plenty of spydies to enjoy.

:D Helloooooo Spyderco Brothers, If we really stop and think about the Perfect EDC Spyderco, we may never find it, of course some may have. This is my thought; Everytime I see a new Spyderco, I think to myself "WoW the Perfect Knife"! Down Deep Inside I know its just another excuse to buy one of those precious beauties we all love and need to add to the collection. We are all addicted and can't just have 1 2 3 4 ................................................................... Just my thought. I hope everyone is having a great day. :spyder:

I know I have many :spyder: knives that can take care of all my real and imagined needs and could function as the one for a long time or even a lifetime if it came to that. I could also select a small number for all perceivabele tasks and circumstances and have one in rotation for every occasion if it came to that.
I just hopes it never comes to that as I like buying and using new models for a lot of reasons but mostly just for fun.

The "perfect" EDC for me has been the C48GPS Wegner.
Big, tough, & up to any cutting challenge.
However.....
The C83 Persian may just change my mind! Man this knife is SHARP, feels better in my hand than the Wegner, & I have to admit.....I like a lock back the best. I also prefer VG-10 to ATS-34.
The next serious competition, the C102 Adventura. I'm just waiting on a "user" to find out! :)

Aloha Knifebro!
Oh yeah...I agree completely!

God bless and glad you're having fun with your Persian...

I believe I have come full circle, I have carried a Millie for 2 1/2 years, before that a PS FRN Endura, Walker Ltwt, Jess Horn, Delica, and, ahem, others (Gerber, Buck, etc.). I have a PE SS Endura and I think it is "it", "the knife", "the EDC" I do not feel a need to slide the Millie in my pocket "just in case I need it"
