Post by SDR »

[CENTER]July was a good month for me. My birthday was on the 20th and I was the happy recipient of two Para 2's this month! I received and posted pics of my Brown S35VN Para 2 earlier in this thread. This post will feature the newest Para 2 in my growing collection of Spyderco knives...

With all the pics coming in of the new Spyderco releases .... thought I would post pics of my newly acquired circa 2001 or so 1st generation Centofante Vesuvius with Paua inlay. Had often seen the serrated versions, but wanted to find a plain edge. Finally did and it can assume its place with my Centofante 3 and 4.

Overall, it is in like new condition ... just a little marring on the paua shell

Hi all. New here. Not to spydies, and not to knives, but new to this forum at least. Great place y'all got here. Anyplace you can look at, and talk about, great knives is a great place to be! Picked up a Sage 2, a Sage 3, and Techno collector the other day. Here's a few "family" shots, as I don't have individual shots of the Sages yet, and a few of the Techno. (great knife btw)

Collected these from customs yesterday.

The South Fork is a truly beautiful knife, graceful, sweeping, elegant lines, well balanced, very well made, good finger guard, very sharp, excellent quality. Another Spyderco homerun and my most beautiful Spyderco fixed blade after the Bob Lum Tanto. Exchanged some good e-mails with Phil Wilson, too.

Your eyes are nor playing tricks, it's really five Assists!
Plan to keep one as a safety knife in my car and to give the others to friends and relatives. I was surprised at the size and the thickness of the handles. OTOH, a dainty, delicate rescue knife is not going to be very useful! It feels very solid and stable in the hand.

Image

I like the grinning serrations!

Recieved these on Friday and Saturday (plus two Jack O'Neill custom fixed blades, not shown).
A Spyderco ATR Titanium, Club Member # (one of my Grail knives and a safe queen).
A Spydrerco Techno safe queen (May get one to carry. This "Little Big Knife" is fantastic EDC) .
And a Benchmade Lone Wolf Landslide in Orange FRN, and an N680 (Super Stainless) steel blade. GREAT EDC for $45.00!

I was actually pleasantly surprised.
I got it for 46.00 shipped on eBay and thought for the money, I would try a beater.
After I got it, I am finding the n680 is scary sharp and has held an edge a bit better than my S30V knives.
I haven't had to sharpen it, yet, so I'll make up my mind then.
It flips open fast and smooth.
It is the same size as my custom Buck 110 with a drop point Damascus blade, and a bit lighter.
As a beater, I have not found reason to complain. It is in my pocket, right now.
