Re: Manix Monday
Thanks! Hoping they're comparable enough to Spyderco's serrations in use.Manixguy@1994 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 28, 2025 4:19 pmLooks outstanding ! Let us know how your mod performs . I have been beating the drum for a Manix SE release . Dan
Thanks! Actually, I left that portion of plain edge because I'm considering shortening the blade a bit.
Re: Manix Monday
Great looking teeth but, got to ask why are you wanting a shorter blade?

Re: Manix Monday
The Manix 2 has a weird blade length, for my use. Too short to be a long blade, and too long to be a short blade.
For my use, I usually carry two knives -- one long for when I need to span material (usually food, and a potential emergency/defensive option), and one short for all other everyday utility cutting. I prefer the longer blade to have at least 3.5" cutting edge, and the short blade to have pretty much right at 2.5" cutting edge.
Typically, but dependant on the knife's design, a 2.5" cutting edge is about perfect for allowing my index finger to reach the tip for precise cutting and controlling depth of cuts. Since the Manix 2's blade length is in "no man's land" for me, might as well chop it down a bit and make it work better for me.
Still deciding if I should do it, but I'm leaning that direction.

Re: Manix Monday
I've never used a Manix and wished for less blade, lol. Even the XL feels stubby in that department vs a military or especially the police.

Re: Manix Monday
Lol I get that! You have much larger hands, though.
Re: Manix Monday
The Manix handle though, if it works for you...it works for you! I absolutely love it, choked up or not it just works for my hands.
I like the idea of tinkering around with the blade in that handle, props to Peace for doing something different. We don't see much of that kind of modding around here!

Re: Manix Monday
I agree , Manix may not work for everyone but both sizes are so natural in hand for me . Love the SE mod project too , like someone thinking outside the box and doing something different . I'm also hoping for serrations and more translucent colors in the future.
Love those scales!
