Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
Almost halfway through October and these two have been workmates nearly every day. I over sanded the Para's scales smoothing them up and boogered up around the lanyard hole. :o Maybe after October I'll find some new clothes for it...

Cool! The Hen of the Woods are popping on our property right now. We found maybe 20-25lbs of them yesterday.

I missed this one, Wartstein.Wartstein wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 2:12 pmaicolainen wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 2:05 pmHi Julia, and thanks again!
I live in Norway, or the outskirts of nowhere, if you will. Not the easiest place to get hold of your favorite Spyderco's, but plenty of places to use them :)

Looks like Trondheim or a bit north to it?
I love the wild nature of Norway (and all of Scandinavia), been there a lot when I was younger :)
Trondheim is spot on!

Rextober is also the official month of Rex Kwon Do!
Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
Been carrying my Japanese Rex45(aka Hap40) Endura all month. Time to switch it up for the rest of the month.

I’ve been thinking the same thing.
My wife and I took our daughter to a local farm last night, to pick out a pumpkin. We (I) will probably be cutting into it tonight.
My P4 will probably do most of the work, but I'll let one of my Rex knives get dirty for some glamor shots.
Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
We did some carving with the kiddos yesterday, and my Military helped.

Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
My oldest daughter brought some home to cut up and I asked her how big a knife did she need and she said I'll just use the ones that came in her stencil kit, what a gut punch   She did say that she used the ladybug I got her at work earlier in the day, so there is hope :DAlbatross wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 8:47 amI’ve been thinking the same thing.

Perfect! Thank you, attila, it looks like the military and the P4 about the right blade lengths for the job!attila wrote:We did some carving with the kiddos yesterday, and my Military helped.

We carved 4 big’uns over the weekend and roasted seeds, but my go-to punkin blade is a fillet knife.
Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
Yep, we use a serrated filet-style knife. It's great for detailed work and curves. But my new green Pac Salt did help trim out the innards on our pumpkins this weekend.

Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
We are testing out the Z-Cuts this year for pumpkin carving.
Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!
Ooh I bet they’ll work well! Tall blades don’t make turns well, the Z-cuts ought to work about as well as a fillet knife.FullFlatMind wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 2:39 pmWe are testing out the Z-Cuts this year for pumpkin carving.
Re: October and Rex45 aka RexTober!

My P4 handled most of the work, but the Rex 45 Para 3 was great for cleaning things up a bit at the end.
