Finish counts and sometimes the tang is rounded on corners, sometimes its at a nice soft 90°, sometimes there's the tiniest chamfer... That makes your eyes trip !

I put 11 different mules on top of each other once because I was sure they we'ren't the same lol
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Mine is being dispatched yesterday around noon. Got the tracking number. According to FedEx they already have it and it's about to hit the road.

Just got shipping confirmation this morning!

Also it appears that it has what I consider "low profile" serrations based on the one actual pic posted earlier in the thread! This is my favorite serration style and I'm stoked to try essentially K390 with low-pro serrations. I expect great things from this edge just based on the serration profile.

Not yet.. I’m sure they have a lot of orders to get out the door. It’s exciting 😁

Edit: Got the shipping notice 🙌

It’s a beast. I have used it to cut strapping and some huge zip ties and I am a fan so far. And it was a nice surprise to see about 3/4” of plain edge at the front which is just the perfect amount for me to not really miss a full plain edge, yet doesn’t fall into the ‘partially serrated’ abyss.

I haven’t even really touched the plain edge yet. SE is where it’s at.

Someone please correct me…but has their been a steel with a higher wear resistance than Magnamax that has been in a serrated format? Like serrated Maxamet or something?

Or is this the highest so far?

I think the K390 in SE is it until now, least that I know of. I know I sure wanted one of the MagnaMax Mules in SE and tried my best to get one. Just was not to happen and I think it was because I don't have a PayPal account... just added enough extra time during checkout.

I could see chipping becoming an issue with low toughness steels, so wonder if the ~K390 level of toughness is required for acceptable performance?

Not required for sure, but I wonder if it just could be the pinnacle of edge retention thus far.

I think when they take a knife blank their working like they do, then go through the process of doing the SE treatment, I was under the assumption that added more toughness to the blade edge.

If that is in fact true, the MagnaMax SE should be one killer blade. I know I am just sick I didn't get one lol... you guys that did get one of the SE's, your very lucky...

I only now realized that Fedex is the carrier. I am a bit sad cause i promised myself to never use them again. They are so hard and delayed on import taxes that it is too expensive to simply eeceive something from them.

Last time i paid 18€ on delivery and 7 months later they asked 110€.

I've been dabbling in "difficult to move" trinkets for decades. Sometimes you need to think outside the box. One surefire way is to wait until one of your homeboys is traveling to a particular country. Have the "package" delivered to where he's staying, and then he can bring it back in his luggage. Another option is to call up one of your buddies in the country of origin. Wire him the cash and ask him to stick the item in the mail. Maybe stick a birthday card in the package.

Yes I should do that, But I used to order so often that I did not want to bother the same friend everytime :squinting-tongue
Fedex is very very fast but I usually have to pay later on, Imma see how this one goes and if it's the only carrier now I'll regroup at a friend's house and buy some knifemaking stuff to group everything!

Hey everyone, just curious, do the Mule Team scales and sheaths restock regularly? Or only at times new Mules are released? Would really prefer an official Mule handle and sheath.

Thanks everyone, sorry if it's a dumb question, new around here.

The G10 Manix has quickly become my favorite EDC platform, so expect more Manix's

Not a dumb question. AFAIK, they regularly get replenished. FWIW, Halpern is the maker of the G-10 scales that Spyderco sells through their website, and Halpern also sell the scales through their own channels. Seeing as the MagnaMax Mule drop just happened, I would suggest waiting up to a couple of weeks for a re-stock to occur.

I swear I've seen you posting here before, but if I'm wrong, welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the response, I actually ordered a flat jade one fron Halpern, but the actual Spyderco ones look much nicer.

I've been here a bit, just not posted a huge amount. Mainly on the 15V knives and Manix's, just got a S90V/CPM-154 Manix for a decent price, really like it so far. The peel ply carbon fiber is really nice.

I'm sure you'll see me around more, thank you for the welcome and response! 🙂
