I would vote for it too -- if it's the leaf blade version with foliage green, khaki, or forest green G-10. M4 or any other metal except maybe BD-1, but I would take that if it was the only choice.
Excellent 1500th post!
Thanks, LC. .. (Could I have possibly had 1500 things that were worth saying? Wait! Don't answer that  )

I also wouldn't mind an FG G-10 Urban with a leaf blade... cool little knife  But some might think it's not macho enough to represent the forum. However, if funds are available, I'll probably take any kind we're lucky enough to get :)

I'm not sure if people are realizing what a runoff vote means........I had to laugh when someone voted for the Foundry in the last day for a total of two  :D

A runoff vote is to vote for what you would prefer among the top contenders so that by the end of the vote people are voting for what they would prefer out of the knives that might still have the potential to come out on top if all the scattered voting which have no chance of taking the lead were to be redistributed among the contenders.

I think at this time this would become a three way race for first and second place between the top three contenders.....but more realistically among the top two. Anyways I just thought that I would mention it one more time since there was also some confusion on how it worked at the beginning of the thread as well.

Well I think that is my last 2 cents on that topic......but then again maybe everybody is waiting until the last day to change their votes......or maybe even the last 5 minutes.

Now wouldn't that be interesting ........watching the voting in the last half an hour. If people are actually waiting until near the end of the voting..... then votes could shift around pretty quickly.

But in the spirit of a few other posts.........I vote for a Spyderco VG-10 Spork! :D

I'm going to try to restate this very simply, one more time if I may, for people who haven't read the thread or kept up with all these polls (or forgot -- it's been a long time since this started) ;) :

There will not be a separate runoff vote.

You can change your vote on this poll at any time just by voting for a different knife. The old vote will disappear and the new one will appear :D

This poll will morph into its own runoff if everyone will just vote for one of the top two knives sometime before the poll ends on 1 Feb 2015 .

You could vote for the 3rd place knife now if you like it, but if it doesn't move up in the poll before the end, your vote will be wasted. To make it a true runoff where everybody votes for one of the two final contenders, ideally everyone should choose one of the top two before the end of the poll.

The poll will be over very soon and it will be too late to make your vote count if you're not voting for one of the top two.

Please correct me if any of this is wrong, (I know you will :D)

No actually - you are entirely correct sir :)

Perhaps when you are so close to something you just don't see the forest for the trees and can sometimes forget that what is clear in your own mind is not so clear at all. :o

But you clarified it better than I have been doing with that last post ;)

But I guess another way of putting it as well is that if the PM2 IS NOT your second choice and you voted for something other than the Caly 3.5 and would prefer that over the PM2 as the winner .......then now is your time to vote for the Caly 3.5.......or the PM2 WILL be the winner.

Or, if you voted for something else besides the PM2 and Caly 3.5 and your second choice would be the PM2 (currently in the lead by a lot) but you really, really want to ensure that it stays in the lead and no last minute vote switches make the Caly 3.5 the winner.......then you should switch your vote to the PM2. Even though it is currently winning.

Ideally all votes should line up behind these two knives in the end.......or alternatively enough people may switch to the Manix 2 and boot the Caly 3.5 out of second place.

That is about all the possible end game scenarios that I can think of as I don't believe that the PM2 could ever be kicked into 3rd place with the way the current votes line up.

Too quick! I'm taking that day off from work to be sure I don't miss it. I think it's clear what this forum really wants...M4 PM2! I think it's time.

That sure would be a great introduction to the PM2 for me......I'd sure buy one. :)

However.........I'm hoping that one is already in the pipeline and that the big guy will give us another Caly 3.5 in some new exotic Japanese steel just to assuage our grief over the demise of the G10 VG-10 Caly 3.5

That way two awesome new "sprints" get released and EVERYONE Wins! :D

I would buy both if that were to happen :) ;)

This is something I wonder as well. I vaguely recall a thread about PM2 sprints and how no more were being planned, but that there may be more already coming or something along those lines. I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

That sounds logical, with the popularity of the PM2 and probability of it already having its own sprint run, why not vote for something else we might not otherwise see!
Going back to Caly.

BTW......nice to see you back. Sorry if I can get a little intense sometimes. Hopefully the Gringo comes back in with some of his input...... which I have also enjoyed very much in the past.....especially any of his pics that have some of the beautiful scenery of the tropics. I would love to see some more pics from him with Spyderco's posed against some awesome backdrops as well as the wickedly beautiful skies you see down there......especially at sunrise or sunset.

Having lived in Toronto for much of my life I have experienced quite a lot of passion with respect to diehard fans of the underdog. With my competitive streak and intensity I sure am glad that I don't follow hockey.........with the Toronto Maple Leafs playing record over the last couple of decades I've seen a lot of very depressed Torontonians. I don't think that being a Leafs fan as well as a "knife afi" is a healthy combination :D

But in this case, I think that whoever's "horse" wins the race that we will all be happy with whatever treat Spyderco puts together for us in the next Forum knife.

Regards.....Steve

I know that I said that I wasn't going to do this.......but the amount of new voters took me completely by surprise.

Since the past voters have not decided to get behind any of the leaders yet - I thought that I would post a record of the votes at the current time of this post so that if things drastically change later at least we can see what happened and when.

It is much easier to just do a print screen and crop and then upload the pic for me but at least the info is still there - even if it isn't in such an easy to read format as what GoldenSpydie put together.

There's still time left! If enough people change their vote from the top two then we could have a surprise winner. :D

Nope! I would be happy with any of the knives in the top three, but that's not where my vote is currently. I just love an underdog. ;)
