Also curious to how it would stack up against the P'kal and Waved Matriarch.
The deployment is quicker compared to the other two due to the finger ring, and the ring is fairly visible, which again, allows for more positive and quicker deployment. Its easily covered by a shirt though. It is also a Karambit, which is a different blade type than the other two.

Frankly the kbit market is split down the middle: Crap and quality.
If you could make one for $100 would they sell any more of them? Probably better to find the right builder and be proud of the result. If they put it in line at Golden we would probably see it released in 2017 with how busy they are keeping :) .
I think it would be prudent to see if the market likes the currrent model.

Sal - While there is a small target demographic which would use the knife in congruence with its true intended fighting style/format, the mass majority of the people who purchase knives with these bladeshapes are interested in karambits for their retention attributes in cqc personal defense situations - the Civilian has long held the standard in PDX, and so has the Matriarch - both of which have been highly popular. There is absolutely no correlation between the Karahawk's sales performance/popularity and the demand for an aforementioned "s" bladeshape.
A more accurate estimate of sales/demand would be to combine both the sales of the Karahawk with the Matriarch and Civilian. I posit that 100% of the market that purchased either a Matriarch and/or a Civilian will purchase a Karahawk with an S blade.
Slash and dash/evade or to retain a handgun are the primary functions of a karambit. The majority of users are not looking to latch into trapezoids on a daily basis, that having been said - I would much prefer the blade of the Matriarch on the Karahawk's body, provided the tip were strong enough...

Indeed. I personally do not have a civilian or matriarch, but only because the blade is not what I am used to. I prefer the simple claw type design of the Karambit, so I opted for a Tasman instead of an S blade. However, I think you may be onto something in your theory there.

Interesting hypothesis. Do you think there would be interest in a Karahawk with a reverse "S" blade?

I personally would not be. A trainer? Yep. A fixed blade? Yes indeed. Other variations? Probably, but an S type blade doesn't interest me. Of course, I am only one guy.
