Sal, will these be available in the US? I'm not generally a fan of SlipIts, but being half Danish this one has a special appeal. I realize that I can always order one from a European vendor if need be, but just curious if there are plans for US distribution.

Hi Sal.
Whats the ETA on pictures of the Pingo? We are many Danse, that are looking forward to getting a glimps of that knife.
I read today, that one of the members of a Danish forum would buy anything
, if only the cuality was good.
I Hope to hear from you, and so does a lot of other Danse.
Best regards.
Mikael.

Straight from the horse's mouth (Swedish Police's homepage): "Exempel på undantag från förbudet:" (Examples of Exceptions from the ban:)JontaK wrote:It might be a good idea to round off the chamfering edge with a grindning, laser or waterjet process, then polish it. That combined with a strong spring would probably make OHO almost impossible.
It would look really nice too, without losing the trademarked Spyderco hole. :spyder:
We Swedes are almost certainly banned from wearing any kind of pointed thing in the public due to to our knifelaw, a carpenter got charged a while ago for carrying a knife. What's next, police raids against restaurants to catch chefs with knife in hand...?

I feel I'm perfectly within my rights to have a Swiss Army Knife in my pocket, and a Ladybug as a key fob. While my Tenacious might be stretching it, I'm taking the chance. It's not very aggressive looking, it's simply a nice, sturdy, sharp knife that happens to be one-hand open. I would never carry my Cold Steel Ti-Lite though.
Hi Ghost,
Welcome to the Spyderco forum and thanx for the input. Legality of knives for each country is becoming more challenging each day.
Hi Miikael,
We have begun tooling for the handle. once the handle tooling is finished and we have a sample, I'll show some pictures. Current samples are not complete. Even the Concept Model we showed in A'Dam was G-10 and had no clip.
Vox and Anso seemed to feel that the hole will not be a problem. the location makes a stud non functional. Also, the appearance is non aggresssive in blade shape and overall pattern. We're planning to make two colors for the initial offering. Probably black and blue.

Sal, thank you, and you are correct about knife legislation. At the moment, I'm hoping no new laws are to be introduced in the wake of some recent stabbings, machete cuttings and so on here in Sweden. As they are now, I'm pretty satisfied with them. I would like to have perhaps a balisong for fun, and perhaps to carry, but I can live perfectly happy without one.
