My brother got a sage 2 in today, and we tried cutting paper but it failed the paper cut test =[ I don't know if we got that "1" out of the batch or what, but was a bit disappointed to say the least for paying 150 bucks you would think it would cut paper.

Used Paul's FRN UKPK to slice up a cold joint of lamb ... like a knife through ... err ... lamb :D Ended up using it to eat my dinner too - very useful and easy to clean afterwards. I always like to leave my knives spotlessly clean - ready to use on food, if necessary.
My spydies: Squeak, Tenacious, Terzuola, D'Allara, UKPK CF peel-ply pre-production, UKPK CF smooth pre-production, UKPK G10 orange leaf-blade, UKPK FRN grey drop-point, UKPK FRN maroon leaf-blade, Bug ... all PE blades :)

My wife's b-day today, and her mom sent her a big package of goodies, wrapped and taped so as to withstand a nuclear attack. No match for my Caly 3 G10/VG10, though. :)

That's funny - I always like mine to be "food ready" too. :D

- best wishes, Jazz.

We're here at the early at the range preparing it for a club shoot today and my ZDP Endura served us well cutting up Hungarian sausages for breakfast for us early bird range officers.

That ZDP is awesome! It makes the sausages taste a whole lot better. :D

Don't feel bad, I got a Spyderco SmallFly that wouldn't pass the paper test at all when I first got it. A few quick strokes with the Sharpmaker and it was splitting hairs in no time. I agree, it does kinda suck though, if you want it to be good and sharp you pretty much have to mess up it's NIB appeal, which sucks. :(

It certainly was a nice day!! The next day, I tried an expericment to use my Swick 2 to clean some trout. I thought the index finger hole would allow me to not put down the knife while cleaning. It kinda worked. The negative blade angle wasnt ideal for how I cut open the fish from the tail to the gills. I had to modify my method to cut from gill to tail. It worked OK, but I was just happy to get to use another knife for another purpose!!

Today I used my Manix 2 (CF/S90V) to cut acoustic foam to soundproof the gym where I train. The new next door neighbour started complaining about the music volume.

And now I'm about to use either my Mini Manix or my Chinook (depending on which pocket I reach for) to cut some chicken and some delicious summer squash tart.

Catching a few Sockeye salmon these last few days on the Fraser River, BC. Using my Salt 1 to clean the fish... Works well, great fishing knife.

Tonight I helped make guacamole, using my 9Cr18Mo Mule to peel the avocados. A few nights before I did the same thing with my Tasman. Both did pretty well and it was a surprisingly fun task for them. I also recently used the Tasman to spread peanut butter, which it does quite well using the prominent "belly" of the reversed blade. It's becoming my official spreading knife ever since it did such a good job making pizza a few weeks ago.

DUDE, my newest addition to my collection is my PARA 2 that my wife got me for my Birthday a couple days ago. Well, her cousin, my buddy, Timmy came over today on his lunch brake to see me and he was checking it out. He's not a knife collector, but I am in the process of converting him. Anyways, he saw me doing the Spydie Drop, and he was like 'oh cool, I can do that' and he did it. Or at least he tried to do it. Apperantly he did it backwards and before I had the time to correct him, he had somehow manages to cut the inside bend of his middle finger beyond belief. I couldn't believe the amount of blood that he lost in my kitchen sink before I finally cut up a old shirt and bandaged it off with neosporen. Talk about a bleeder. He said that he had drank a beer earlier in the morning so I'm sure that it contributed to the blood loss. Poor timmy, he's wounded. :(

I dug around the headstone of my dad to clean it up and cut off the overgrown grass when I went to visit him at the park today. I used my manix 2 and got it really dull between digging in the soil and hitting the edges of the headstone. 30 minutes on the DMT Aligner got it hair splitting again.

I guess it was more of a case of "Who did your Spyderco cut today?"

Used my Military to cut the lawn edger plastic wire (not quite sure what it's called :eek :) . Then I was digging a hole in the backyard to stick a tree in, but my neighbor's vine kept attacking me so I used it to trim the vine. Cut a couple of stubborn roots in the ground that didn't want to give way to the shovel, also.

My new Sage I did the late breakfast/early lunch honors today. Chopped up some leftover steak, bacon, onion, & tomatoes. Sauteed 'em up with eggs and refried beans, and put some corn tortillas on the comal. Added some of my wife's fire roasted salsa, and voila'---very tasty tacos for my wife, daughter, and me.

Cut up a bunch of shipping boxes for the recycle bin. Just for fun, I tested my Para 2, PPT and Manix 2. Best was Para 2, then PPT, then Manix 2 - all are very sharp, but difference was just blade grind. It was a fun test.
