Wharncliffe Wednesday
Re: Wharncliffe Wednesday
I wasn't into Spyderco yet when the Kiwi variants were available. I hope they make a new run someday, as they seem very nice.

Re: Wharncliffe Wednesday
My favorite Wharncliffe to date right here and it's a big guy too. It's sitting on some of my better fossils I found over the years.
That one at the bottom of the pic that is a darker colored sediment is a really large tooth or claw, have had several people look at it and can't get a firm answer as to which it was. It's a nice piece though.
Things use to be way different on this earth and much larger species that was the top of the food chain...

Re: Wharncliffe Wednesday
Seeing your Yojumbo photos makes me curious to try one, Jeb. Maybe I'll get one during the next MAP sale, whenever that will be.
Re: Wharncliffe Wednesday
Mikey,
I must say the curiosity of the look of it had me thinking that I just couldn't see how it would be comfortable grip.
However it was one of a few bigger blades and I like my bigger knives. I already knew I loved the Wharncliffe blade design and that they are awesome.
So I found this Yojumbo M4 with jade G10 scales and wow it doesn't disappoint. I really like everything about this knife. I am sure the point on this knife would be one you could break off really easy, so it's for cutting only.
I need something for prying, Jeb just gets that tool, not one of my many knives I pack EDC... the Yojumbo is a fascinating knife in just how they look though. Then you get this big knife in your paw and that explains everything right then.
Its design gives you the power for heavy cutting power, least it does for me. My hands are all beat up and need all the help they can get and this Yojumbo does that with easy, it's a big knife so just keep that in focus when you pick the size you want. Spyderco makes these in just about every size range to fit your wants and needs...
Both of these knives in the pic above are a 4" blade size. I really like a 4" size for just about anything. If not that, a bigger one would be my next choice which is my Police4. It's very seldom I actually need a small knife. Wish many times Spyderco made a 5"...
When that small knife thing does come up, I usually turn toward my Leatherman which I just bought me the new Arc. I really like it so far. It's only problem for me is it is not a Spyderco, but it can't help it lol...

Re: Wharncliffe Wednesday
Thanks for the insights, Jeb.
Speaking of the Police 4, that's another model I haven't tried. I will probably get one in Spy27 when it comes out.

Re: Wharncliffe Wednesday
@sv4, I never knew that Spyderco made a Kiwi 4 until today. Thanks for sharing. Now I have another wharnie to add to my list of models to be on the lookout for
