Just got mine. Not the sharpest factory edge. F & F is as good as my Vg10.
I'd say Stretches are higher compared to Enduras ... True? Opinion?
Edit to clarify, I mean in F&F.

Re: HAP40 Stretch
I had a brand new in box hap40 Stretch (backup) that I bought on accident when I thought my first order didn't go through. I got tired of letting it gather dust so I just traded it to a very old friend back in the States for his new zdp stretch. He probably got the better end of the trade but he is a full blown spydernut in early addiction. haha. He missed the hap40 run and I wanted him to get one. Worked fine for me too as I didn't need two and have never had a chance to try zdp189.
Re: HAP40 Stretch
Lance,
My ZDP experience is Endura. Just recently got Stretch (VG10) & liking it, so I had to get the HAP40. :D
Pls share your experience comparing both (same model different steel). Somehow I feel the F&F is tighter for Stretch than Endura, at least on my sample (limited).

Re: HAP40 Stretch
I'm right there with you guys too! Feels great in hand and cuts like crazy (I too only have the SB version), but there's something about it that just doesn't do it for me. Nearly always prefer the PM2 if want a 3.5" blade or the Delica if want lightweight FRN. Last time I traveled, I even took my Stretch as my only knife, and it still didn't grow on me. Not sure what it is exactly that doesn't click. Combo of blade shape and sluggish (at least my copy) back lock perhaps?
I too sometimes consider getting a HAP40 one, but this model just isn't for me.

The rest I'll get at least 2 so I have a user. Probably get 3 of the dragonfly, the wife has requested one after getting her a SB.swigert wrote:Every time I see these I want one but then I remember the stretch just isn't for me. I think I'm even gonna sell my SB one. Something just doesn't click. Weird. It's ine of those models I thought I would love.

Re: HAP40 Stretch
It's funny how some knives click and others don't, for no apparent reason. I love the superblue Stretch so much that my absolutely perfect HAP40 Stretch is still new-in-box.Capt'n Boatsalot wrote:I'm right there with you guys too!
