I prefer comp-locks 100 to 1 over liner-locks. I am sure ED would agree… in normal usage of this type of hard use gloves are worn. This was a demonstration, not an advert for liner-locks.

Yes I’m looking at you wartstein…. Get over it already, jeeez…

Yeah typically I'd be wearing gloves if I'm doing yard work or something, but it's still something I wish there was a solution for. I really think the button compression lock is a possible fix while still retaining the strength and fun factor of the lock. Truth be told if I could get every Spyderco in a Plunge Lock like the Autonomy uses I'd never buy another lock design.

In my mind, I really wanted this to have contured handles. They didn't have to be as contoured as the Shaman, but the flat scales were a minus for me. Smooth is a plus. Stonewash blade and clip would have also been a plus.

I'll own one eventually when funds permit and see if it's just a mental hang up on my part.

It's going to be so ironic if eventually there are contoured scales available for this knife, given how many people swapped the Shaman scales for flat ones. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for them but I'm surprisingly ok with the flat scales. I do kinda wish they were peel ply though, they're nice going in and out of the pocket and smooth on your hand but I'd prefer more grip. I'm thinking about beveling the corners more too.
Not contoured, but how hilarious is it that the first aftermarket scales I see put the choil back?

I'm more ok with those than a blade choil. If a handle really only has one dedicated grip position, I don't have a problem with one index finger groove that only helps to keep your hand from slipping. Of course, as long as that groove fits my sausage finger.

That is hilarious!! 😂😂 I'm not mad at it. I'd rather the grooves be in the thicker handle. I do believe though Rockscale Designs were the first to come out. At least that's what my emails showed. And those are true to standard just with a bit of flair and rigidity. Also, liner delete to help the added weight.

Has anyone tried the AWT scales yet?
https://appliedweaponstech.com/spyderco ... -anodized/

- Enhanced Grip: In a shift from our usual Agent milling, we opted for a more aggressive surface milling to improve grip in all conditions. Also, instead of the flat surface found on the stock Bodacious, we chose to contour the scale for enhanced ergonomics.

- Aggressive Chamfers: Featuring our signature aggressive chamfers, these scales not only enhance the ergonomics but also add a bold, distinctive look to your knife.

- Unique Outer Profile: The outer profile has been thoughtfully customized from the stock design, giving your knife a unique and refined appearance.

- Opening - Our scales allow for front flipping when using the thumb.

The bodacious looks better than the shaman in my opinion. Can’t wait for an exclusive.

I have to agree , I will sit back an exclusive pops up in the future and hopefully timing is right . Really appreciate the design with thinner handle . MG2

Bodacious is really what I wanted and waited for a long time. A wonderful edc knife in shape, materials and size. However, my copy bought on SMKW does not seem smooth to me. It is not about the washers, but about the fact that when the death end ball slowly slides along the blade, I feel scratches and roughness. Blue lube helps, but not much. Is it the same for everyone or am I the only one who is lucky? And what is this dark path where the ball goes?

The path seemed to me like a way of smoothing out the path that the detent ball slides on. I would oil it and use it, they usually break in and get smoother over time.

I have the satin and DLC versions. I can feel the detent ball drag on my satin Bodacious. The DLC coated Bodacious is smoother.

In the photo from the review it seems that the detent area on the Bodacious is generally rougher than I have seen before on my knives. The Military was definitely smoother. What could this track be made of?

Maybe. But what's the point? The surface doesn't become smooth after engraving.
