Seems as this setup it the way to roll on this one. Hopefully MXG comes up with some more shorty clip options so we all don't get our knives mixed up :p :D

Not really. I guess I should clarify, I don't really mind the color but I like the darker grey used on the Cruwear PM2 way better. I was going to use this as a work knife like I do my other P3 and (occaisionally) Cruwear PM2. Since my hands are often dirty at work I'm pretty sure the light grey is going to show dirt in a hurry. I know I can clean the scales but I'd rather not have to deal with that very often. Thankfully DougC-3 reminded me that I could always dye the scales. That revelation brought the knife out of it's box in a hurry to see if I could adjust the pivot. Now that the pivot's adjusted the way I like it all I need to do is decide what color I want to dye the scales.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

I have a box of Pear Gray and a box of Scarlet. I am thinking some kind of dark crimson.

But I will definitely use it for a while before I do.

I see that the MXG clip is quite popular indeed!

I just noticed something. The coloring on this one makes the huge lanyard hole less noticeable.
Maybe not in this terrible photo though. In person it does.

I picked one up as well. I usually don't go for aftermarket clips for my Spydies, but this one looks like it was made for this knife :D

You guys are always costing me money. I've decided to go ahead and order that MXG clip as well. I'm usually not a fan of aftermarket clips, but the pics in this thread are just too convincing. Thanks.

MXG should send anycal a free clip, his photo helped them sell half a dozen I'm sure.

Holy crap, I really have to take back all things I said about the Para 3. I never was interested in it, even thought it was bulky and ugly a bit. However, holding the cruwear one.. Well for starters, I'm really digging the light grey! It compliments the cruwear and it inspires something like "lightweight pm2" as opposed to the darker cruwear sprint.)
Holding it in hand once again proved you really just can't say anything about a spyderco until you have held it. I hold my pm2 with my index under(on the choil, thumb on the back of the blade, ideally. I was worried about the size of the handle but it's quite perfect and the stout shorter blade just makes sense. It vanishes in my hand while giving me a superb grip allowing light and precise cutting and heavy forceful work at the same time.

The action is not as smooth as I'm used to from compression locks, but I easily middlefingerflick it till it, closing requires a wee nudge forward with my wrist but by all accounts I'm being a nagging granny because it's fresh out of the box and I'm confident a week of playing with it eliminates most if not all of the stiffness I think is too much. Can't wait to play with it haha..
It's tough to let it lie seeing as it's a sprint and at least I had another blurple pm2 to (ab)use so the cruwear one is being kept for special purposes like convincing others to buy a pm2 ;)

I'm in possession of a cruwear pm2, blurple pm2 + manix 2 g10 and lw, native 5 frn S35v, a delica and I think I'm leaving one but if those are the ones I have to compare with should anyone be in interested in photos.
Carrying 3 knives is perfectly normal :D
Haha, read your signature quite often and it makes me chuckle because be it coincidence or whatever, most of the times I'm actually carrying 2 (pm2 and lw manix usually) and toying with a native or something. It's only then that I become aware of what a lost cause I've become ;p "but they all fulfill different roles! *que explanation about steel types, weight and blade shapes to a normally adjusted person who lost me at the first sentence*

:D I really do carry 3 knives most of the time. You're not a lost cause, you just see knives for the specialized tools they are. Sure there are lots of do-it-all knives (pm2 is a great example), but I prefer to carry 3 task specific tools that do their job perfectly, rather than one that does all 3 jobs good or ok. My usual 3 are, 1. My primary SD knife (Yojimbo 2, PM 2, P'Kal, Karambit) , 2. a utility/work knife (delica 4, Native 5), and 3. usally something small and public friendly like a Manbug or a Dfly. I got asked the question, "what do you need more than one knife for?", a lot. The old joke used to be, "No one ever looks for the third knife", now I go with, "Carrying 3 Knives is Perfectly Normal :D ".

Hahaha, if we would've met in real life we could well become friends! That's exactly how I feel about it as well! My rotation changes according to the expected tasks I expect to perform. Additionally. You'd cry if you'd see what happened to my delica (being my first knife from spyderco, namely). Loved it so much, carried it daily everywhere and used it way beyond its capacity. After sharpening it so often it lost its belly and I'm unsure what to do with it. Perhaps I'll turn it completely plat, small tanto tip down a la cheap yojimbo. Anyway, that's how the love started. Bought a pm2 and manix 2 in S110V after that"- both great tools but as you know one leans itself more for certain things then others, but both handle everything and then some I throw at it so, I really came to love leaf shaped blades, and an lw manix 2 S110V became the Knive I started carrying daily too for its weight and primarily ergonomics and blade shape. ****, more then once I used it as a kitchen utility. Quick wash, slice a cow in 2, wash again to get rid of leftover cow, and there. S110V in a lightweight package is a godsend, never worry about it and I'll outlast me probably. Then there's the native 5 I usually carry around with me. Smaller but with all the qualities I look for in my knives, but it won't be subjected to the madness my s110v spydertoys are subjected too, so went with regular frn and 35v. S35v is amazing steel for a smaller Knife. It's so easy to sharpen, and despite being lw - they're so tough. But there are many factors which decide what I use, even the things like whether I'll have to open it a lot one-handed, how often will I use it and on what. Glad to hear I'm not alone :D
I have just one issue. I've been back and forth about getting a yojimbo 2, and you're reignited my interest :p wasn't there a special version being released too? Remember something about a black blade brown g10? It's one beauty of a beast, and in shape the main one I am missing but have many uses for.

I LOVE your previous go-to explanation. No one ever looks for the 3rd, perhaps I'm behind the times but that actually made me laugh out loud! I'm so stealing that one from you, can't wait to use it! Kudos for that post and thanks for the kind words! Learned a lot about steels different designs and generally essential knowledge for correct and safe usage of knives too!

Oh and this being a p3 thread. Earlier I spoke about stiffness. Well I flicked and clicked it for a little while, dropped it (closed no worries) but when inspecting it just to be safe I noticed all stiffness had disappeared already. It drops freely into the lock and out with the compression lock pressed. Zero blade play, dead centered, bevels even and sharper then.. Something else really sharp..? I think I'll just use it as an edc anyway. Scratches be damned, the blades I own all have their battle scars and I love them all the more for it and this one is too sweet to showplace in a vacuum sealed glass container.

Jeeze. My Para 3 Cru-wear I purchased from DLT Trading on Friday was delivered today. That's fast. This is a beauty. Love the color.

A little discoloration on the G10 at the center of the pocket clip holes, but not a big deal.

I ordered one of those clips this yesterday after seeing this post....thanks for the heads-up! I've ordered many of their clips but never bought that one...looks great on this knife. Can't wait to get my Cruwear sprint to finally handle a Para 3.

BTW - I sent MXG an email over the weekend asking if they ever do any kind of promotional sales or offer discounts when buying multiple items...ex: buy 2 clips get one 1/2 off, spend $50 for free shipping, etc. No luck, their reply was..."We don't have any discounts available".

I really like the color too. This is my first Pm3 and I still like the size and feel of the Pm2 better, but the Pm3 is very nice and better for situations where a smaller package might be more acceptable. The build quality on mine is great and I have been a big fan of Cruwear since the first blade I got in that steel (Manix2, Mili, Pm2, and several fixed blades now). This sprint is a winner all round! Just needs a deep carry clip installed (which is waiting for it at home).

Got mine today. Like the para 2 it's very well built. Alignment is dead on. Edge is beautiful and very sharp. No blemishes anywhere. Excellent QC.

I think making it into a wharncliffe shape (Flat on the bottom with a nice point, like the yojimbo or a box cutter) is a good idea.

The Yojimbo is one of my favorite designs. Primarily it is designed for self defense, but I think it makes a great utility knife as well (I carry it for both reasons). The S90V and Coyote Brown Yojimbo 2 is a very nice knife, and it looks awesome, can't say enough nice things about it, but the s30v version is pretty darn awesome too. I think the S90V DLC and Brown makes it a little more public friendly. If you're intersted in learning more about the Yo2 check out this video. https://youtu.be/1ddOdONCCqU "evolution of the Yojimbo 2".
