I don't mind that is it what it is. But I would like to see more solid carbon fibre. I'd like some solid CF scales for my Bradley Folder that is for sure. But my Air is fine as is. I don't own any other of the others but I would think that if I were to own the Sage 1 or Chapparal I'd be ok with that too.
The Szabo and the Najava. I'd want full CF I think.

I think it is great that Spyderco has updated the product descriptions, but for me it is definitely a non-issue. I think Sal was exactly right when he said, if I recall correctly, that CF is more about the handle exterior feel/look, and that the full strength of CF is overkill for knife handles anyway. But in the interest of full disclosure, updated descriptions are good.
Regarding the Sage 1, that is my favorite CF ever and I would like to see more if it used. The texture is great. The Szabo CF is also really nice.

Not a single customer thought it was so important as to send in their knife. That does say something about the amount of "........" that can go on in the forums.

The reason I didn't take your kind offer is that I love this knife. Finding out the CF is laminated doesn't change my mind.
It is a good knife, at a good price. No complaints.

Depends on the knife and maker. For the Sage, that is a true statement. The handles are done by taking G10 and putting a very thin layer of Carbon Fiber on top of it. But as I said, it depends on who's making the knife (Golden, Taichung, Seki City, etc) To see an entire list of knives that have this style of CF handle, check this link. Spyderco created a subdivision called Carbon Fiber Laminate. As I said, the complete list of knives with the G10/very thin CF can be found here.Drkknight614 wrote:Just wondering if it is true that the carbon fiber scales are not all carbon fiber. But instead they are g10 with a thin layer of carbon finer on top. Anyone care to clarify?
