Advice needed...what to buy?

#1

Post by Xibalba »

Hi again all!

I recently came into some flush money ($100) that I am able to waste away on whatever strikes my fancy. As it so happens, <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s strike my fancy pretty darn hard. So I am looking for some advice on which <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> (or <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>s, plural) to purchase. My requirements are as such:

<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> 3" or under blade length

<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> sturdy pocket clip

<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Combo Edge (I don't have one yet, so

I might as well)

<img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Must be practical for use as an EDC. (I

do not want to spend $100 on a custom

showpiece that never leaves the display

case)

Go ahead and suggest more than one knife if you wish, as I will buy more than one if the total price is under $100.

Thanks, and I look forward to getting your opinions!

Mike

****, I guess it doesn't fit your requirement of a combo edge, but for that money, I'd look at getting a <a href="http://www.spyderco.com/dealer_product_ ... 4BB">Peter Herbst Autumn Folder</a>. I <i>really</i> dig that knife.

Xibalba,
Except for the combo edge. I'd recommend the Ti Salsa. It's my EDC at work. Works very well in the PE.

You could consider the Delica, it is very close to your specifications. There is also the Salsa or the Lil' Temperance. But I'd go for a Gunting. Though I'm not sure how would perform as EDC, it meets your other requirements.

I will also suggest the Delica. I just today received one NIB in a trade (PE, FRN), and that is an excellent little folder...A very nice mate to my FRN Endura!

I too will recommend the Peter Herbst Autumn Folder. I have one in a PE and it's one **** fine knife. I'm planning on buy a combo edge one as well.
