These were carried by John F. Jensen a number of years ago. They were done aftermarket, as I remember, in very small quantities. The coating is a dull Ti-Al as I recall, and they show up on ebay every now and then. You might check johnfjensen.com to see if he still has some.

It is real, just slightly mis-labeled. It is not an Economy Standard, it is a regular Standard. The Economy had a different construction, the right handle was made up of two layers of steel, with the clip punched out of the outer layer. Middle knife below is an Economy, bottom one is a stainless Standard.

As Swede mentioned, the coating was done after-market by John F. Jensen.

LOL!!! :D

Nice try Doc, but java, a simple purveyor of burnt beans and dead dogs, has no control of the bloodlust of crazed nitrided undead Spydies. I'd stock up on garlic, holy-water, wooden stakes, and a belt grinder personally blessed by Sal or Eric and hope for the best. Looks like the good Sleep Doctor has some wakefull nights ahead...... :p :D

Boy, Java, we're really hijackin' this thread, but I guess Spydergent got his question answered.
The more I look at it, the better I think that gold Worker would look on a Vegas bling necklace.
I'll get my Ambien ready for tonight!!

Yes, that is one of our knives :D

Sorry, there are no more gold (tin) or black (tialn) of any model.

Java, nice collection! :)

The one on ebay is a very good deal. I went back as far as 2000 and we did not sell it to anyone in Illinois (the ebay seller location). This fellow must have obtained it elsewhere.

Hello forum members,

I was the person selling the knife on ebay when this thread was started by spiderGent, not by me & I do not know him or anyone else in this thread & yes these knives were done by John F. Jensen. I had 2 of them & yes Mr. Jensen I did not buy them from you I got them on the secondary market.

I lost a little money on the first listing I didnt buy them to sell them though the winning bidder got a great deal on it but hey thats my loss his gain.

I am not trying to promote anything here just posting a reply.

I am a numbered Spyderco club collector & I am also a big fan of Spyderco's knives I just cant keep them all, I am not wealthy & yesterday I got my most recent shipment of collector club knives like 9 knives total including the large Hossum & it set me back a bit so some must go now to make room for more.

Thanks George
