Hate to break it to ya bud, but Superblue is terrible if looking for hard use. I used my Caly Jr at work for 2 days and it was so underwhelming, I knew I'd never carry it again for warehouse duties and ended up selling it. It was fun to patina and get crazy sharp, but it held an edge comparable to 8cr... possibly worse :o

Yea, I had one before and I love SB. My "hard" use is a lot less hard than it used to be. I'm still getting used to this early retirement, crap. I'm like a combination of a handyman and a housewife now...
Houseman? Handywife? Whatever you call it, that's me. Not complaining, though. I get to sit around and spend money on knives, stocks and whatnot.

Well ok then! Didn't realize you were one of the lucky ones! I just read your post and didn't want you to think it was some kind of super steel that's all! Good for you, hope it serves you well.Sumdumguy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:46 pmYea, I had one before and I love SB. My "hard" use is a lot less hard than it used to be. Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
It isn’t meant to be a “hard use” steel. It is an edge junkies steel. If you like sticky sharp edges it is great. It also likes thinner geometry. A factory edge will hold an edge as long as vg10.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:50 pmWell ok then! Didn't realize you were one of the lucky ones! I was going to purchase one when I got home from work if they were still available, but now all gone.
That was a good deal. Not too long ago and it would have been a quick sell.
I suspect something other PM2 is on the horizon...

Crazy Good Deal only in the relative sense, but Rex 45 Manix 2's have started showing up on eBay in the $150's... better get 'em while they're hot. (Right after I payed $176 for one... oh well)
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
No offense towards you. That's not even close to a good deal and only reinforces flippers to buy up more product.
A good deal is buying from a retailer at the current price.
Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
That knife is well worth $150. That's only a $24 markup, then after fees...the seller is probably only making like $10 profit.

KC clearance sale includes a couple chaps and a really ugly Endura, but it would be excellent as a rit dye project!

Maybe if they do some combo deals, but those are the same prices they've been asking since the disco sale. I do want the Lil temp 3, though.

$199.95 for the blue-stepped Titanium is a great a good deal considering what regular price isWoodpuppy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 8:55 amKC clearance sale includes a couple chaps and a really ugly Endura, but it would be excellent as a rit dye project!

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
KC also has the opus for $125.
In the world of $90 enduras and $190 militaries that deal seems worth it.

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
Yeah, plus don't forget lots of dealers charge state sales tax, so the seller is probably making less than that
The opus and those stepped Chaparrals have been on sale forever - so little demand - $130 for 3.75" of S30V in a nice user profile is a great deal

You can get a Delica for $64.97 with free shipping over at Sportsman's Warehouse right now. There were a few other solid deals in there too if you look around. :)
