That’s right ! Don’t leave home without it ! Great day for camping I bet . Dan
Yep! Beautiful weather out. Not hot not cold just right.

Added this guy to my fifth pocket after reading the ladybug thread. Thought it'd be fun to revisit it.

Image

Even though it's not even as wide as my palm when open it still gives me a pretty comfortable and secure grip. Fits me better than the ladybug.
Nice! I just went back to adding a slip joint in my pocket. Wharncliffe blade when my main carry has belly and bellied blade when my main carry is a Wharncliffe. I have enjoyed it.

I like this "man vs. snow" photo! That snow doesn't have a chance.

a seven hours flight farther south.
Seven hours farther south :O man, it must almost be getting colder again :winking-tongue
You caught me, my friend ;)

It was a stop over flight (so not a direct line) and I messed up a bit when estimating how long non stop would have lasted.
Looked it up, actually just 4 hours, 55 minutes from Munich (which has the closest large airport to Salzburg where I live)

Anyway, I am not too often in a real ocean environment, but the Salt 2 feels right at home...

Ok, Vivi, now it's clear finally:

You do need a Chaparral. :smirk

Did not know that you can be a fifth pocket guy, the Chap fits perfectly there (and is superthin, which is nice in that place too) and in YOUR hands would almost look like a Ladybug ;)

You'd perhaps not be overly happy with the rustproof level of XHP and liners, but I am sure otherwise like the steel and first and foremost finally get a blade play free backlock Spydie with a superthin ffg blade (perhaps for THAT a bit thick behind the edge but you reprofile anyway).

I actually think you'd even really use that thing: You know that I prefer larger folders too, but actually often grab the Chap for smaller tasks, even if I also carry a larger folder or fixed, cause the little guy with its slicey but still strong blade is just a joy to use (gives one a good amount of edge too for the small overall package).
This is true both for more "urban" and outdoor/bushcraft tasks.

The FRN version is a great choice, but I think the disco'ed CF version can be had (in the US) for a substantially reduced price (not a CF guy myself though).

And: Should you really not like the Chap enough: You could always perhaps lessen the spring tension a bit and give it to a certain little one... :smirk

Speaking about brisk, wanna guess where this spydernut lives? You only got one try, so spend it wisely

Nice shot! ...and the updated flight time is a way better fit with where I expected you to be. Enjoy your time in the sun!

In hindsight it wasn't a fair match. The TRL Endela turned that field of snow into a pile of bloody mess in a matter of seconds. With dangerous tools comes great responsibility, I've learned that now.

This has been my main one almost every day since I got it a few weeks ago. Been a grail knife of mine for awhile and now I can’t set it down. ESPECIALLY since I got a Lynch NW clip for it.
