I’m thinking it’s a crap shot . Since it’s been said a Salt Native will be out in Magnacut, maybe the Manix 2 will get a G10 offering . Two different scale variations would make sense . Next year may have more models than we know about released in Magnacut. Availability of the steel and production scheduling could be a factor of what we will see .Just thinking 🤔 MG2

don't get me wrong... i love my lightweight manix. i just want a g10 version and it would be nice to get it in magnacut or spy27 instead of s30v. i'd still buy a m2lw in magnacut.
Pretty much the same here - love the LW, but want to try a G10 Manix and Magnacut would be great for that.
/ I think we´ve maybe discussed this somewhere else already (?), but in any case I don´t want the heavier weight of the S30V G10 Manix (though I really like the steel).
yeah, we've discussed weight before. i do like how light the lw manix is, but in the clothing i typically wear, the weight difference is basically negligible.
....
I just somehow recalled that we did discuss it. Memory is not the best part of my brain functions (really!).

And I did not make clear what I meant in that particular post of mine, which was:
- I´d not be opposed to tryinge a G10 Manix at all, and Magnacut would be a perfect steel for that
- But AMONG the G10 Manixes I want the lighter iteration with the skeletonized liners, and not the heavier S30V version with the full liners (but I think all G10 Manixes except the S30V "base" model do have the lighter liners anyway).

/ Concerning "bulk": Yes, for me weight matters a lot more. Said it before: I even love the combo of light weight, but wide footprint of my Manix 2 LW, since this is exactly what makes it sit so stable in my rfp - but I normally don´t have anything else in their, except perhaps the car - or bike lock keys.
Top three going by pocket-time (update October 25):
- EDC: Endela SE (K390). Endela SE (VG10), Manix 2 LW (REX45)
- Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1)

I sure hope this is the translucent yellow/green Manix Salt I’ve been waiting for! I can certainly see how the yellow may be reminiscent of pee, so lime green may be better in this case. As Wartstein said, the Manix LW carries so well with its light weight but wide profile, it’s a winner for me!

i really dislike the translucent scales. i suppose i'd still buy it, but i would much rather it not be a lw model so i can mod it however i want it. even that recent translucent scale exclusive from the knife joker wasn't a terrible color, but i just don't like it. color has never stopped me from buying a knife i really wanted yet though.

I would love to see a linerless G10 Manix like they did on the Native 5
They also made a linerless backlock G10 Manix 2 briefly, Apr. 2017-Oct. 2018. I've never handled the linerless Native 5, but the Manix seemed a little thicker in hand than I like, maybe to make up for the missing liners, so I passed on it at the time. It was very popular with some backlock lovers, but soon discontinued. I'd definitely buy one if it were re-released in Magnacut.
One of my all time favorite Spydies....if not my very favorite. Hated that they discontinued it. I would absolutely love to see some sprints of this one.

alright... it's real. i've been waiting so long for an ikuchi and a g10 manix and they both popped up in stock without the impending price increase. i chose the ikuchi over the manix in hopes that i'll see a g10 magnacut manix before too long. fingers crossed.

also, i can't wait to finally get an ikuchi in hand. i guess i better give up my search for a discounted brouwer now. i'm going to be in a lot of trouble with all the hopefuls this year. it's only january and i've already purchased as many spydercos this year as last.

definitely will do. i'm guessing it will be rough on my fingers, just like the reviews say, but i typically enjoy breaking in my hands to a new knife and developing muscle memory. even if it makes my finger raw, i'd probably just keep playing with it. but, i'm a guitar player, so being rough to my finger tips is nothing new for me.

check the tip of the blade on your Ikutchi. I got one of the first ones, and it (the tip) was proud enough of the handle, when closed, that it stabbed & cut me a few times...

other's reported similar, or the same...

Hoping Spyderco got that fixed post haste, but figured I'd mention it just in case...
now that I'm thinking about it - did Spyderco ever even apologize about that?

Looking forward to hearing & seeing your uses/thoughts on the Ikutchi after you've had and used it for a while.

Yes! MagnaCut Manix with screw construction!
Found this looking at Spyderco patents. It shows different concepts incorporating a battery but the one thing that stood out was the screws!

that's great! screws would be amazing on the lw. it's the only thing i don't love about the model. i wonder if we could switch out frcp for linerless g10 or something.

i don't know if i'd like a manix to have a light in it. seems a little gimmicky.

The Manix 2 LW will be going to screw construction, so you can likely swap out the blade and scales with a G10 model.

Hmmm, very good point! Not sure which steel from a G10 model I'd choose to swap over though! Guess we'll get to that problem when we get there. Just feels like it's been a while since we've had a G10 Manix release. What was the last one, the DLT purple/Cruwear?
