I've got a set of green Micarta scales, a deep-carry clip, and a titanium ball cage that I've been storing for the right G-10, non-coated Manix to show up. This might be the one.

I’m on the fence , I would have liked a black blade and scales appear to be same color as M390 ? Definitely glad to see another Manix ! MG2

At $157, this is an automatic purchase for me, maybe the only one in this reveal.

i was intrigued at first, but then i remembered i value corrosion resistance over edge retention.

Tempting, but I will keep waiting for the BBB folder, presuming this is not it.
BBB folder?
Some references here can be obscure. I'll just make an appeal to posters that if you post something like this, you might want to provide a little more explanation to help the members who may not be on the forum as much. And it would help when someone sees a new knife announcement to give clues as to when and where it might be available.

BBB has a folder design in the works with Spyderco. Rumors from the major knife shows are that it's a medium sized liner lock.

I do not think this Manix is the "BBB folder." I think Spyderco is crediting him with helping them dial in their heat treat of the steel used in this sprint.
May you find peace in this life and the next.

When and where? Pre orders are up at Knife Center. Should be available at authorized US dealers at the least. When, is anyone's guess. Might not even be this year.

BBB (Big Brown Bear) is a reference to Shawn Houston a forum member (Deadboxhero) and knife maker (TripleB Handmade Knives) known for his pursuit of top shelf heat treatments, thin edge geometry, and exotic steels. He has worked with Spyderco to develop a heat treatment for Magnacut and 15V as well as an upcoming folder design of his own.

Hope that helps.

It sounds interesting, maybe even enough to make it worth tearing apart a brand-new knife to grind off all the liner teeth.

I’m right there with you! The edge retention is sooo appealing but I can’t seem to keep the rust away.

I'm trying to come up with a good reason not to buy this.
Compared to some other knives, this is a GREAT value.

I hope they will treat 15V similarly to REX45, and all Golden models get done like that. I am much more interested in a Military , Chief , and Native. Very cool surprise to see that in the reveal though.

There is no pre-order available at Knife Center. AFAIK, no retailer will allow pre-orders for sprint runs.

I like how the knife isn't out yet and knife center already has a two star review up. Classy.
