Someday I'll have to breakdown and get a Caly 3.5 to see what all the hype is about. I'm still waiting for my Sage-1 to get here, in addition to another knife, so I won't be ordering anything for awhile.

Although I agree with mikerestivo's 1st ten points, I usually remove the Spyderco clip on any knife I carry so I can't say "I love the wire clip." I can add though, that the Caly 3.5 fits my hand more perfectly (both open and closed) than any other knife I have ever held. I never leave home without it.

Yes, followed by a rinse in the hottest water you can muster, shake it out and dry it with a clean towel, and make sure it's dry by using a hair dryer. Then I relube the pivot with Nano oil, and they work great! Sometimes I take the blade completely off, which is a snap with the Caly. That's what I do at least... I too am little curious about the Caly.
But I am hesitant, because it seems it is liked and compared to the Delica.
I have a Delica, and spends its time next to the stove in the can that holds all the pens and pencils. I know most praise the delica, and I will admit for the price one gets a great value and great knife, a very nice slicer, lightweight but sturdy, in a variety of colors. For me it does not rest as comfortable in the hand as others.
The models that I enjoy and carry often are the Stretch, Kopa, and Dragonfly that I could relate to the Caly.
With this line up, what people that have had those knives above and the Caly. How does the Caly compare? My main concern is how it will fit and feel in my hand, is it closely to the Delica? I don't have a dealer close enough that has one, to handle for myself.

When you see the Caly compared to the Delica, it is almost always in such a way that people are saying "if you like the Delica, you will love the Caly". It's comparable in size, but that's really where the comparisons stop. There is nothing else in my mind aside from steel type, lock type, and country of origin that are similar. IMO the Caly is better than the Delica in every single way and is worth the extra money.Blue Possum wrote:I too am little curious about the Caly.

You need to look at what you don't like about the delica and see if you can find the same point of concern to you, in the caly 3.5. If the same things get checked, then it probably won't be for you.Blue Possum wrote:I too am little curious about the Caly.

I agree with the love for the Caly 3, but the ODD portion you mention goes against almost all tastes I know of regarding folding knives. We want the most blade to handle ratio. If we could get a 1.1 to 1 ratio for blade to handle, knife guys would turn backflips.
