The slight texture on the cutout for the lock release is brilliant too. Wish more frame locks had this detail implemented.

A little size comparison.

I've been tempted by that one more than once! Machined clips are a tough sell for me though.JSumm wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 11:48 amI was able to handle one of these a couple of years ago when I met Sean the founder and designer of Null Knives at Blade Show. I was shocked at how great this design felt in the hand despite the unusual look. The thumb stud design is a unique take, but quite effective for however you want to open it. Can even slow roll open with the cutout. Wharncliffe like blade with a slight upswept angle. And with the blade riding low you can cut on a flat surface pretty easily.

I agree! Milled clips are not my favorite even though they look good. McNees gets flack for their clips but like Spyderco's they work exceptionally well in practice. I will say, this one kinda disappears in hand and sits high enough that going in and out of the pocket is easy. I did need to relieve the tension a bit, but I do that from time to time with any clip.abbazaba wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 12:07 pmI've been tempted by that one more than once! Did you used to have a different username on here? For some reason your post and username vaguely reminded me of another who used to post similar carries, with a lot of zip-ties in Spyderholes and stuff...

You might be thinking of "ThePeacent". We certainly have a lot in common; I miss his posts. He hasn't been active on the forum since 2019: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=27353.
Very Nice.

I've enjoyed mine. I got this XHP when it was on a closeout sale direct from Cold Steel. It came fully serrated, but I've never liked Cold Steel's serrations for knives I'll actually use. I converted it to plain edge, but I need to thin it out a bit more.
I miss him. Hope he's doing well. I still have some vintage cold steel stuff he traded me back when I was hunting down 2nd gen voyagers.PeaceInOurTime wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 6:17 pmSpeedHoles wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 4:29 pmDid you used to have a different username on here? I think he stopped posting around the time I got a forum account, but I lurked for several years prior. I really enjoyed his pocket dump pics, but always thought it was crazy. Now I'm not too far off from resembling his carry style!
If I remember right, he used to occasionally carry a Cold Steel Desperado. I was thinking about one of his posts with that knife a couple months ago but couldn't remember what it was called. Took me a while to find it in Cold Steel's online catalogs!vivi wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:06 pmI miss him. Hope he's doing well. Spain sounds right to me. Haha that would have been a great interaction! Seemed like a really nice guy.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:58 pmvivi wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:06 pmI miss him. Wasn't he from Spain? I could be remembering wrong. Took a trip there to Barcelona, and kept looking around for zip tie knives sticking out of pockets haha, never saw any.
Yes he was fond of "wave"-ing everything with zip-ties.SpeedHoles wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:58 pm...and kept looking around for zip tie knives sticking out of pockets haha, never saw any.
I love my Opinel 8 with walnut handles. So light and thin behind the edge.
Yes, definitely not a hard use knife but it's a great slicer. Which is exactly why I bought it. It's broken in pretty nicely after a soak in some mineral oil and some opening and closing.RugerNurse wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 5:05 amI love my Opinel 8 with walnut handles.
