Revival wrote:So because of this thread, I finally purchased a 3.5 in G-10 and recieved it today. I cannot describe how much I love this knife from the moment I took it out of the box. I don't think I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. I don't know why I waited so long to get this knife. All I can say is if you are on the fence, don't waste another second and get it. Thank you Sal for such a great design.

What other Spyderco's do you have that you could compare this to?

I really want a VG-10 Caly 3.5, but I haven't been able to snag a trade for one yet and am not going to have any funds available for a long, long time haha. Oh well, I seriously wonder how many Caly's have been bought just from this thread alone. :D :spyder:

This might be a stupid question, but it is pretty important to me. Can you put a high carry Manix 2 LW wire clip on a Caly 3.5? I love every feature of the Caly 3.5 except for the deep carry and this would totally fix that for less than $10.

I tried on 4 different occasions to trade for a Caly 3.5 and thought I had the knives to make the trade happen and didn't get a single offer. Now I can see why people hang on to it. I sold my last PM2 which was perfect to fund for my 3.5 and I don't regret it one bit.

Should be more CF. This variant is in production for much longer than VG10/G10 was.
Is this a hint that we need the sprint of VG10/G10 Caly3? Let's say in dark green color :)
When I hear you say Dark Green, I hear in my head "polished" Dark Green. :)

That would be a remarkably attractive knife. I still really like my now-disco'd black peel ply G10 Caly3. Green would be super.

Yeah, almost all wire clips are interchangeable.

That Caly 3.5 has seen some use. :)

Not very much use actually. As it turns out, fingerprints are very photogenic. :o

LOL, I know that!

Me, some windex and a paper towel are a pre-picture ritual most of the time. :)

Yes it will certainly work. I will gladly trade you a spare M2 LWT clip for your Caly deep carry. I have even played with the idea of placing the Dragonfly clip on my Caly.

I have nothing else that I could compare the 3.5 to. It's very slim and the blade is perfect. I was worried that the blade was going to be too big but not at all. IMO a lot of the pictures you see does not do the knife justice. If the Sage was is still uncomfortable for you, I would sell it and use the money to buy a 3.5. I think you would like the 3.5 a lot.

Agreed, I like the Sage and have two of them but there is nothing that compares to the Caly 3.5 in an every day carry knife

Which Sage do you have? Why do you prefer the Caly 3.5 over your Sage?

I have the Sage 1 and Sage 2 and while I like the Sage I have always thought it to be a little bit short and stubby or wide. The Caly 3.5 is what you would have if you grasped a Sage firmly and stretched it enough to do away with the short stubby effect giving it a perfect streamline profile and at the same time leaving a perfect hand print in the handle for perfect ergonomics.

Darn, it does work... :p Now I want a Caly 3.5 even more haha. If and when I get a Caly 3.5 I'll gladly take you up on that! Anyone want to trade for a vintage Schrade USA 125OT, Endura 4, or Manix 2 LW haha? :p

Does anyone else think that like 90% of Spydercos should be made with a wire clip and come with the high and low clips? :spyder:

The Salts, and the larger, duty type knives like the Millie? That's why I said 90%.
