Thanks Salty , I have always admired the Bradley design but as a lefty a buy holds me back . Scale change takes the model to a higher level with a warmer more natural look . Nice knife . Not crazy about shiny pocket clips. I like darker ones. Preferrably not painted. Bronze is probably my favorite. You can hold the clip over a stove top for just a bit to get a bronze color. Have a cup of water at the side. Doesn't take too long to get a bronze. I am sure it messes with the pliability a bit, but it is just a wire clip. Can easily be replaced if it ever breaks (I doubt it). Dan has been doing it for awhile and I think it looks good. He inspired me to try it out. Some people have acid etched the clips, and I think that looks great too. Gives it an almost bead blasted look.

Thanks! I've done the acid etch treatment and it's decent, as you say--it gives a light grey sand-blasted look--it's never gone as dark as I'd hoped. I've considered Caswell's stainless darkener kit at $30. I like your and Dan's flame-darkened bronzy look, though. You anticipated my question about ductility. Would it weaken the spring-like character of the clip? Or is the clip getting harder after "quenching" it? But if you and Dan aren't seeing any changes...I'm tempted to try... Sorry if I am OT; if there is a thread devoted to this, please LMK.

Jeff, does the Sliverax achieve a negative blade-angle nearing an Ayoob’s?

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Give it a try. I think to notice a difference you would have to bend the clip back and forth and back and forth to see which one snapped first. I'm sure the heated one would, but you would ruin both clips to see. And if anything bends it that much back and forth, you probably have a trash clip anyways. Plus, Casey lynch makes an awesome wire clip replacement. I recommend the bronze.Bolster wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2023 2:56 pmThanks! Don't know man. I don't have an Ayoob. I would think the Ayoob reigns supreme in that category. The Sliverax is similar to the Military which has a great negative blade angle. If that helps. Just with a more wharncliffe style edge.

Off topic. My wife has mats that have a similar print. I kept wondering where I had seen it. Well it’s on the floor right in front of sink. Lol
