Chad Kelly Custom knives (aka our very own Xplorer )

#1

Post by standy99 »

Just received a custom knife from Chad for my 50th birthday present.

Left it for him to come up with something with a request for colourful.

Opened up a package with the first of he’s knives with a makers mark and the first of one of his new range “Osprey”
Along with a sheath for every occasion

Also had another present of a CKC mule to make a knife of my own. (He also included all the scales and hardware even the drill bits)

I can’t thank him enough for the knife and all the help and encouragement he has given to me in the Mule Team with putting scales on.

Here is the thing of beauty.

All I can say is WOW! You lucky dog! I'm a fan of Chad's work too. I get a little jealous each time someone posts about a knife he made for them.

Andy, it was truly an honor to be asked to build you a knife for your 50th!

Thank you very much for trusting me to build you a knife! I hope it serves you well. Pretty or not, it was designed and built to be used hard and last a lifetime so please don't hold back when it's time to put it to work.

It's an exciting moment in time for me to finally begin adding my maker's mark to my knives. I'm proud to have been asked to send the first of my knives etched with my maker's mark down-under to you mate! I'm also happy to see you get the first of the new model. I'll be officially introducing the Osprey model on Instagram tomorrow now that I know you have yours in hand.

It's always a pleasure chatting with you and great to see you making Mule handles.

I hope to see some Osprey #001 "outback" shots some time in the not too distant future.

Best regards,
Chad Kelly

MacLaren...it seems there's a lot of us that are hovering around 50 here. I'll be turning 50 in April. We're getting OLD! :shush :smlling-eyes

Thanks all for the birthday congrats.

Couldn’t have asked for anything better myself from Chad. Still just looking at this thing and amazed how nice a knife it is and all the extras make it even more awesome.

Made short work of a pork shoulder this afternoon and dang it’s sharp…..
