I've settled on the Byrd Catbyrd or the Spyderco Tenacious (pics & info below). I've read good reviews on both. Both come in combo edge, use the same blade material with a similar blade size and thickness. The blade shape, handle shape and handle material differ somewhat. The only key differences I can find between the two is the jimping and option for point-down carry on the Tenacious.
I'm not clear how the blade and handle differences affect use and performance. I'd appreciate any advice you may have.

Byrd Catbyrd:
- $46.95

- blade length 3 9/16" (90mm)
- blade thickness 1/8" (3mm)

Spyderco Tenacious:
- $49.95
- leaf-shaped blade
- 8Cr13Mov stainless steel
- flat grind
- textured spine jimping
- Walker LinerLock
- blade length 3 3/8" (86mm)
