I held them both on Saturday. I was suprised by how large they are. They are both very good quality, I almost bought the crossbill, but I was looking for something SMALLER than my main carry paramilitary, lol... :o

are there any spyderco designs that are like that also? I know the spyderhawk and endura are the same but are there any others?

Wow. I never noticed the Flight/Crossbill similarity. :o

Well, in response to this question:

I'll jump on the obvious one...

Caly3 and UKPK! :D

Delica3 and Tasman I believe

What kind of construction do the flight and crossbill have? Cause if it were possible to take the flight with G10 handles and make a g10 crossbill, I'm all for it. I assume since the handles are the same, the locks and other internals are also the same....

Unless I find a reasonably priced PE merlin or G10 harpy soon (unlikely), I think I'm gonna have to see if I can get someone to do this for me. wonder if the SS handle and flight blade would go back together and still look good....

I don't own either but i assume the same thing. i think they are identical expect for the blade shape. the pelican also has the same handle shape. I think if you can manage to take apart the crossbill you can put the blade with the handle of a G-10 flight. but it might be tricky because the crossbill is all pin construction and its very difficult to take apart. But if you can find a way to do it then i think i might do the same thing :)

I haven't pulled one apart, but I doubt the pivot pin on the SS model will be the same size as the one on the screw construction G-10 Flight. You might be able to drill out the pivot hole on the Crossbill blade, but I don't think you would ever get the Flight blade back in the SS handle from the Crossbill.

Malice- I would think it may be possible to sacrifice a Crossbill, which has pinned SS construction in order to remove the blade to transfer to the G-10 flight handle. This would result in the Frankenbill, that would look something like this.

I hadn't noticed the difference either until I asked the guy at the counter to see "both of the Crossbills". The knives we're just piled on top of each other in a display case, so I couldn't see. I thought one was a serrated edge and the other plain edge. LOL The guy was like, "what do you mean both?" lol.... :D

I just received my Crossbill and Flight. Not only are the handles identical, but the holes in the blades line up nearly perfectly. :) Pretty cool!

Sal, are you paying attention to this? We need a G-10 Crossbill! :D

Who knows, maybe the 2008 catalog will share some insight. ;)

...and while I'm on the subject, this seems like the ideal place to say it:

I cannot wait for the 2008 catalog to come out! I'm losing my mind here! :D

im prettysru sal just mentioned somewhere that there is going to be a G-10 Crossbill. it might have been in the thread about the 2008 closeouts. it also included G-10 Enduras and Delicas. anyone looking to get rid of a flight an crossbill pair? both in ss? new or used?
