Deeper Carry Manix 2 XL

Like the Manix 2 XL but don't like how much handle is exposed above your pocket? Wish you could carry it deeper but don't really like the fold over clips? Fortunately, Spyderco has built in a solution for you! See that lanyard tube above the clip just sitting there hogging all the space? Get yourself a 1/4" pivot barrel and two screws (3/8" head diameter) and order a titanium barrel bolt clip from SFO (used on the Atlantic Salt and Rescue 79mm), and wallah! You now have a deeper carrying Manix 2XL.

**Some fitting required. The barrel bolt clip is longer than the factory clip, so while it attaches higher, the spoon end sits almost at the same position as it does with the factory one.

**Side effects include more pocket time with the Manix 2XL, better pocket retention, and better grip while removing from the pocket (square edged screws are easy to hold onto with the forefinger and thumb).

I actually don´t like deep carry at all, but I still do like your solution!

Just from looking at it (never actually owned one) the Manix 2 XL from the factory looks like it would be TOO "shallow / high" carry even for me.
Your mod just makes it "normal" carry, which is cool!

The clip would move side to side, but I used super glue between the clip and scale once I determined the position I wanted. I may also inlet the scale in the future for a more long term solution.

Yeah, the original carry is definitely quite high. Screams "big knife" for sure. Normal carry is what I was after.

I like the added benefit of having a longer effective clip. The knife needs to be pushed up farther to be able to accidentally fall out of the pocket.
