Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?
...for a bushcraft-worthy knife, the strength of a Compression Lock is a significant advantage..... Of course not claiming at all that I'd know even remotely close to what you (and of course also Sal) know about knife designs and lock strength - but that said: Is it a "significant advantage&qu...

Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?
Thanks Sal, I appreciate the insight. I don’t mean to impose but if I may ask - at Spyderco, is lock choice for a new model primarily the designers decision or is that decision influenced and made after an R&D process? Maybe it’s a unique process each time or decided another way all together but...

Re: Knife that screams liner lock got the compression lock - why?
The compression lock offers advantages over the liner lock in more ways than one but it being Spyderco’s own design is probably a large contributing reason for it often being used in favor of the liner lock.

I didn’t mean typos. Are you guys saying you intentionally use quotation marks incorrectly?

Re: Native Scout?
I would still question if there is room in the catalog for a fourth size of Native iteration at the moment? How about a fifth size? …sixth? Why stop there? A fourth and fifth size iteration could probably be added to the Military series, Delica series, and Yojimbo series and they would fit right in...

Didn't you have a similar "thread" about a year ago? :squinting-tongue https://forum.spyderco.com/viewtopic.php?t=94730 ;) I’ve noticed it too but that is only one of the simple grammar mistakes I notice on here regularly. For the most part, I look past it because I know my grammar is not...

Re: Spyderco 2024 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming
BladeHQ need to chill out! :grin-squint They just buy up as many random combinations of materials as they can. They get too many… I barely even associate their exclusives with them anymore because they try soooo many… to the point where they shouldn’t even be called “exclusives” for them. The only B...

Re: Catcherman LC200N Sprint Run
Keep in mind that what we are seeing right now is probably the premiere shipments for this model. There will likely be some restocks in the future that last a bit longer when Spyderco sends out shipments with more quantity to each dealer.

Re: Chaparral
Wartstein I still believe there is a misunderstanding. I was only talking about the Chaparral and Chaparral LW, not a new model. Chaparral = No changes except handle material and finish. Chaparral LW = A departure from the original series - fair game to change whatever they want. Again, I’m not try...

Wartstein - I was simply stating my opinion. I was not trying to incite a passionate discussion. If I’m interpreting your response correctly, it does not sound like you understood what I was saying. (Apparently no one ever does though, so please don’t take that the wrong way. It’s a “me” problem.) ...

Re: Chaparral
I’m aware that the Chaparral LW FRN model was introduced as a way of offering less expensive variations of color, steel, edge, etc. but I still personally hold a lot of value in the overall consistency the Chaparral has had to this point. “All knives in this series share the same basic characteristi...

Re: Roadie: Tell Me About This Knife
Mister Coffee Don’t let anyone convince you it’s not a capable knife. This pumpkin was carved primarily with the Roadie. https://i.imgur.com/9CbDwFr.jpg It’s as much a Spyderco as any other and it’s a big part of their history in my opinion. It’s the first and only knife to feature Sals ingenious s...

Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season
JD Spydo Thats not what I meant. What I mean is that I feel the same way watching NFL games now as I felt when I was watching WWF matches when I was 10 years old and learned it’s fake. Just heartbroken. Whether or not that makes sense… I don’t know. 🤷♂️ These NFL games obviously aren’t choreograph...

Remember the hype surrounding this knife is largely an appeal to popularity. You do not need to be part of a the most recent trend to qualify yourself as a “loyal Spydie guy.”Eliteone2383 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 7:15 amWait am I not a loyal spydie guy if I don't have a slysz bowie? I’m a big fan of all the love the Lil Native suddenly seems to be getting but there are too many Lil Natives as it is, in my opinion.
