Blackened blades scream "tactical," and these days that's bad. I'll stick with regular, polished blades, thank you.

Cricket or Dragonfly for EDC

I have both. It's a constant struggle to decide which to carry.

I am now carrying the Cricket at the office, because it's a bit smaller, and the Dragonfly on weekends.

For those of you who have both the Cricket and Dragonfly, how have you resolved the dilemma?

I read a post from an off-duty police officer that he went to the circus with his family and they stopped him at the gate. They said, we don't care who or what you are, ID or no ID, NO GUNS. He got in, but only after he went back to his car and locked his gun in the trunk.

I always have a Swiss Army Knife on me. Usually either my CyberTool 34 (office) or Craftsman (weekends). My supplemental blade is either my FRN Dragonfly, FRN Cricket, or Kershaw Silver Spur.

When you deploy one of your folding knives, do so casually, without any fancy moves. Even if the knife opens easily or you can flick it open with one hand, always use both hands. I also try to carry more than one blade, and I use the smallest one possible for the task. If you're opening your office ...

Which Spyderco to carry?

Do you ever have trouble deciding which Spyderco to carry? How do you decide?

I have an FRN Dragonfly and FRN Cricket, and I have that battle with myself all the time.

Airport security would not spot a SpyderCard in your wallet, probably. If you get caught using it in flight, however, or if someone sees it, you are cooked.

My favorite is also my first and only, a plain-edge FRN Dragonfly.

That's also the knife my wife wants when she asks to borrow one of mine. That's high praise, indeed.

I ordered a plain-edge FRN Cricket today, so there may be some friendly competition shortly. I gotta face facts, however; I'll ...

Thanks for the welcome.

I'm asking about sheeple because my wife really wants to travel. By air. Yup, now the problem comes into focus.

By "sheeple" I guess I really mean the idiots most commonly found in airports but who exist everywhere.

I'm not about to go anywhere knifeless, so I have to go ...

There is no sheeple-friendly knife anymore. Someone on another forum posted a message about using his SAK Classic for a small chore in an airport lounge and being accused by an onlooker of "brandishing" a lethal weapon.

The question should be, when an onlooker calls the police on me, which knife is ...

Is FRN the same as Zytel?

I'm a Spyderco newbie, but I love my lightweight Dragonfly. The various handle materials are confusing, especially with the acronyms floating around. A little help would be appreciated.

Nylon or stainless steel handles?

I love my lightweight Dragonfly, but what do you folks prefer, Zytel (FRN )or stainless steel handles? For the smaller knives like the Dragonfly, Cricket, etc. Which is classier?

I'm looking for robustness and a high sheeple-friendly factor.
