Thanks for the info. I scrubbed it with a towel and hot water, then applied some Militec-1 on the scales. It looks better already, and I'll see how it is after it dries.

Hi guys. I've been carrying a large Manix for a while, love that knife! The one thing I've noticed is that the G-10 scales appear to be more slick and worn compared to the newer Mini-Manix I have. Would Spyderco be able to replace the scales (for a fee, of course) if the scales become too worn for ...

I'm interested in the current turnaround time as well, I recieved a Chinook with a warranty issue.

EDIT: Whoops, I didn't realize this was a year old thread... its 2008, durr.

You'll end up getting both anyway. The Para will be around for a while, so pick up the Manix while you can. They are really starting to get hard to find. You can also have STR mount you a tip up clip if you so desire.
