Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
Why can’t it be a fixed blade. :lightbulb Most knives from Finland I’m interested in are fixed blades. I am thinking if there would be enough big market for first exclusive being fixed blade. Personally I do not know many people carrying a fixed blade around here, it is more folding knives :) but s...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
These euro knife laws are a shame. Heartbreaking. I'd rather see the energy go into changing these dumb laws. As for if I'd buy one, maybe. The lock is an integral part of the tool IMHO. I'm not entirely sure I'd buy a slipjoint If you would read some of my posts, model is just my idea and it is no...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
Dear Friends, Spyderco family and Forumite... Short on time right now, but just have to reply quickly: Great idea and thanks much for actually following through and contacting Lamnia!! (Actually purchased quite some Spydies there, only the best experiences so far) Definitely intetested!! Would be c...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
On the idea : kyllä / oui / ano / yes. On the specific model : not fond of a non-locking knife. The reason being that a future forum knife, which I'm also interested in, might be the UKPK. And this model lacks a lock. I don't want to own too many lockless knives - in my very small collection, these...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
So much yes. I would like to add the Pingo to the mix. I find it more desirable than the other two. Great initiative! :respect https://youtu.be/Elk5YeogBH4 Pingo is such a sweet knife, I am little bit sad I didn`t pick one up when I could and they were available :-|| . I am planning another poll re...

Re: Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
Thank you very much for your inputs so far. Model is not decided, for now I am looking just for interest in this matter. Since we all know Lamnia, it will be most probably available to everyone around the world. Hopefully this will start a tradition for annual exclusives under Lamnia :) with various...

Spyderco x Lamnia exclusive - poll
Dear Friends, Spyderco family and Forumites There has been an idea forming for quite some time in my head, and after some time I got enough courage to simply try to contact European distributor of Spyderco knives, with proposition to make European market oriented sprint run of some Spydie model - to...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
RIght now the double sided CBN 3x8 benchstone, which costs in my country around 200 USD, I was able to snatch it for 80 USD equivalent . It should arrive today and I can`t simply wait, such a good buy

Re: Just a pocket knife
I have to say, that if I found SpyDK somewhere in Europe, I would grab it immediately. It is exactly what you point out it is - simple knife, no frills, great design and it just simply does what it is supposed to do. I do carry my Spydercos regularly but sometimes more simple knife like Spyderco Urb...

Re: What % of you collection has the factory edge angle?
Most probably 10% as I do consider original factory edges most of the time unsatisfactory, only exception being my Chaparral. I would be more happy with lower angle from factory and thinner ground behind the edge blades in general as modern steels are strong enough to manage some stress under normal...

Re: Why carry two?
Lately I’ve been carrying two because I don’t want to leave my Blue Nishijin Cricket at home, but I also don’t want that to be my only knife on me. Although in practice I haven’t run into anything that weird little thing couldn’t handle at work. https://i.imgur.com/JVvtiDH.jpg That is beautiful duo...

Re: Why carry two?
Shouldn't this topic be renamed to "Why carry just two?" :grin-sweat . I am flabbergasted by someone being genuinely curious, why someone from knife community carries more than one blade. Personally I do carry more than two - larger blade to cut whatever I need with longer blade or due to ...

Re: Polished vs toothy edge for storing sharpness
I do remember that post, from some time ago, about edges being less sharp just while sitting on a shelf... Thought you are crazy but I observed the same thing and now I think of you less crazy and thinking about how to avoid this Boogie man for quite some time. Putting more coarse edge on the knife ...

Re: Will we ever see a Manix 3?
I Quite agree with Gooeytek. I purchased Manix 2 G10 model as I wanted to have some hard use tank of a knife even though I prefer lately (last 4 years) to carry light and smaller blades (Urban, Chap, Squeak, Manbug, Cricket...). Putting Chaparral next to Manix2 I realised it is kinda smaller version...

Re: Still looking for UKPK in new steels and colors
I know this is a resurrection of an old topic, but I think creating a new one would just clutter this forums more. Probably due to quite big popularity of UKPK and currently LC200N and Magnacut in works, it is currently unavailable in it`s basic iteration. Looking at old models in orange and green G...

Re: Chaparral
Chaparral is one of the best folders currently in the Spyderco lineup for me - incredible performance, great steel, fantastic backlock without any blade play. I would say that it has same pocket time as one of my Urbans which is quite something as I am obsessed with those bad boys. Some nice fat car...

[/quote] I can second this. I used my original set for over a decade. When I saw the difference a fresh set made, I ordered another pair to rotate in after a year or two. Experienced the same thing with my fines. They seem to wear slower, but eventually they smooth out over time and replacements wor...
